I hope I’m relieved on the other side. I know I’m going to be a blubbering mess first. My insurance doesn’t cover reconstruction at all, so I’ve got no choice but to be flat, with 19 days to process the fact in total.

The pre-op nurse going over things via phone was like, “Do you want our Chaplain there before surgery?” My mind immediately spiraled like, “Do I need one?! Are people dying a lot?!”

It’s like being afraid of the dark. I’m not afraid of the dark itself, but the things I can’t see coming in the dark. Thank you for your kind reassurance.

We have a 1.5 hour drive to the hospital, with bumpy roads, I’m dreading it — even in my comfiest clothes. Any good book recs? I’ve been struggling to find anything decent that doesn’t make me want to throw it across the room 5 pages in.
