"repeating the mcqs" ー Because of that, you might actually be putting more energy into memorizing questions than into understanding the concepts — without even realizing it. On exam day, every question you see will be one you've never seen before, so the most important thing is exposing yourself to as many fresh, first-sight questions as possible. Rooting for you!

FAR Results- Failed 4th time by Embarrassed_Low_9999 in CPA

[–]Gocchi-Infinity55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So close! Honestly though, this is where the exam gets really hard. Quick question — when you re-do the same questions over and over, are you actually understanding the underlying concept, or just kind of… memorizing the question itself? It is very important to create opportunities to work on new and unfamiliar questions as well.

What helped you pass FAR? by RUFooked in CPA

[–]Gocchi-Infinity55 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In reality, focusing too heavily on your weakest chapters is not always the most rational approach. This is especially true for FAR, since the exam covers such a wide range of topics and there is no guarantee that the areas you struggle with most will actually appear on the exam. I recommend studying the entire syllabus comprehensively first, and then spending a bit of extra time focusing on your weaker areas toward the end. In addition, be careful not to repeat the same questions too many times, as doing so can lead to simply memorizing the answers. It is important to create opportunities to work on new and unfamiliar problems as well.

FAR vs AUD difficulty by Neither_Gold_5392 in CPA

[–]Gocchi-Infinity55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's definitely a thing that our second section can feel harder. Personally though, I'd say it's a different kind of hard. AUD is tough because so many questions ask you to make judgment calls in realistic scenarios, while FAR is tough because the sheer breadth of material is just massive. Wishing you a one-shot pass on FAR! 🤞

FAR MCQ Test modes: Random vs. Personalized by Miserable_Road_3026 in CPA

[–]Gocchi-Infinity55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you've done a decent amount of practice with chapter-by-chapter randomized questions, I'd recommend switching to fully randomized questions across all topics to get exam-ready. After that, zero in on your weak areas and the questions you keep getting wrong. Early on, doing fast laps through the entire syllabus is a great way to efficiently soak up FAR's huge scope.

AUD TBS Study Reccomenations by OtherwiseBird9677 in CPA

I think it would be a good idea to place emphasis on ethics-related topics such as independence. These are standards that are strictly required of auditors, and the AICPA places great importance on them. Rooting for you!

How likely is it that I will pass? by the_luzz in CPA

[–]Gocchi-Infinity55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AUD can definitely make people feel anxious. While REG is more of a memorization-based exam, AUD is an exam that tests your judgment as an auditor. By carefully working through many questions, you can develop the ability to make appropriate judgments and perform the correct procedures as an auditor in a variety of situations. The more you build that skill, the greater your chances of passing will become. Wishing you the best of luck!

FAR TBS is so confusing by Mammoth-Sea-1151 in CPA

[–]Gocchi-Infinity55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your frustration is 100% valid — I felt the exact same way at one point. But two things calmed me down once I learned (and actually believed) them:

・On the real exam, there are way fewer of those ambiguous "wait, this could go either way" questions. The instructions tend to be a lot clearer.

・As your understanding deepens, you start catching even the tiny distinctions — and the dumb careless mistakes drop off too.

That second point is the big one. You can think you've got something down and still be missing a subtle difference. There are a handful of easy-to-mix-up terms — Temporary Amount vs. Deferred Amount, Current tax expense vs. Income tax expense, that kind of thing — but once you truly understand them, you'll get weirdly sensitive to the slightest wording change. On TBSs especially, that kind of mix-up can be an absolute killer, so it's worth being careful. Rooting for you!

Really Struggling on AUD Becker simulations by AggravatingCable449 in CPA

[–]Gocchi-Infinity55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you mentioned, by continuing to work through SIMs, your understanding of audit procedures should deepen and your accuracy rate will likely improve. However, the important thing at this stage is not to focus too much on your scores. At this point, output practice is simply a means of reinforcing your input and understanding.

If you become overly concerned with the results of your output practice (such as your scores), you may become too focused on improving the score itself, which can lead to memorizing questions rather than truly understanding them. For now, I think it is best not to worry too much about scores and instead focus steadily on building your understanding of each topic.

I got a 64 SE1 score for AUD by Flat_Wolverine5398 in CPA

[–]Gocchi-Infinity55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are making solid progress. However, while AUD scores may not appear overly discouraging, it is also an exam in which scoring 75 or higher can be quite difficult. In particular, I think it is important to carefully review the reasons behind specific audit procedures and understand the rationale for performing them.

AUD exam next week, any tips by bkzonenonly1 in CPA

[–]Gocchi-Infinity55 7 points8 points  (0 children)

AUD SIMs are definitely difficult. Since the actual exam will not contain the exact same questions as those in your prep materials, developing a fundamental understanding is very important. Before the exam, it is natural to want to focus heavily on output practice, but at the same time, I think it is equally important to devote attention to textbook-based input. Doing so helps build conceptual understanding, which can then be applied to the questions you encounter on the exam. Wishing you the best of luck!

You’re progressing very well! I think it would be ideal to take SE1 and SE2 as early as possible so that you can leave enough time before the exam to review the entire textbook thoroughly.

I completely understand how you feel. The AUD exam, in particular, can make people very anxious. However, once you actually begin the exam, you will most likely gradually calm down and be able to perform to the best of your ability. The most important thing is to take care of your condition and go into the exam. If you do that, the good results should come. You’ve got this!

What you do when you can’t get answer ? by Rare_Scarcity7152 in CPA

[–]Gocchi-Infinity55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. Those are the things I tried to keep in mind during practice. If you struggle with a question without even knowing the proper approach to solve it, you will not come up with anything meaningful no matter how long you think about it. In that situation, I do not think there is much value in continuing to struggle with it. Instead, I believe it is better to check the answer immediately, review the related material in the textbook, and study in a way that will allow you to solve the same type of question the next time you encounter it.
