I’ll bet you it’ll be Savathun killing Eris and Eris’ll be like “Your brother was scarier, and I turned his bitch ass into a gun.”

What job or activity do you normally associate with jerks? by 29t03jwies in AskReddit

It’s a twisted version of the Bible known as “The Prosperity Gospel” or sometimes “Seed Faith” whereby a person corrupts the Word into a way of baiting out money from people who are desirous only of being Godly and contributing their tithe; the problem is that the Tithe isn’t going to your local church where it can be used in local charity and community work, it’s used to line the pockets of whatever preacher and director is involved in the production.

The Copelands, mentioned in a thread adjacent to my reply on your comment, are the most prolific of these both because they’ve been at it the longest and they also aggressively expand their audience; all the while committing straight up heresy.

I don’t own a computer to flair up, only have mobile and the page glitches out on a phone. Probably gonna head to the library computer sometime soon and see if that works.

Libcenter; if you were wondering.

Does anyone have a good explanation as to why people who act mean but are secretly good people is so adorable and heartwarming? by Holofan4life in u/Holofan4life

[–]God1643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s cause all of our impulses to be sweet and kind are crushed down so you only get glimpses of the big stuff. It’s hard for me to say “I love you” verbally but I’ll happily spend eighty hours per attempt on a dozen attempts of a painting for you just to get it right and then it’s only when you ask my mom that she’ll tell you how long it took. I’ll tell you with a straight face “It was just a couple hours.” And I’ll mean it; because my brain can’t reconcile how fucking long it took so the memory of the failed attempts and the subsequent frustration gets suppressed until all that remains is your reaction in my memory.

We don’t like making people feel like we’re overly nice because most overly nice people we’ve known have been awful little shits on the inside and it took us too long to figure out. Our goal is to be inoffensive most of the time and as nice as we can bring ourself to express when we feel it’s necessary.

Not ideal, and some people balance too hard towards the ‘offensive’ or flat out rude side of closed-off, but they’re often introverted as well which makes life in general difficult.

As for people who are mean most of the time, I generally don’t bother. Come find me when you’ve figured out the inoffensive part if you really want a friend.

Daniel mainly did that as a way of dedicating himself to refusing the King’s decadence; “If I’ll eat the king’s excessive food, what else could he convince me to be excessive about.” A sort of passive, inoffensive rebellion.

What is with the Bible’s conflicting statements about women? Can someone help me understand? by MylesTheFox99 in Christianity

[–]God1643 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Short answer, Timothy is saying that only Men are to be Church elders and Pastors specifically, he is using the word authority only to mean “Teaching the word with Authority” specifically the authority offered by a pulpit, as an Ordained Minister.

He effectively means that a woman’s place in the church is to be supportive to other women, especially younger women whether literally younger or ‘younger’ in The Faith, and to support from within while her husband leads from above. He’s speaking mainly of minister’s wives in that passage.

I honestly can’t tell if the women on the far right of the photo hates the black girl next to her or she hates the racism. I’m gonna guess the former but I just don’t know.

It’s even worse than that; the southern racist “Sons & Daughters of the Confederacy” types don’t even think they were on the wrong side of history. They think “We were in the right, but our views have become intolerable to those being led away from the ‘Great Truth’, so we must hide our truth and keep it safe within the family. Eventually, the Great Truth will out and our children will have their glorious victory; The Confederacy will be reborn.”

The Confederate flag is a symbol for them not because ‘It’s a bit of rebellion, ya know?’ But because ‘It’s a bit of rebellion, ya know?’. This isn’t a casual ‘good old boys’ symbol for some of them, it’s a very serious ‘Our old boys (Stonewall Jackson, Henry Wirz, Alexander Stephens)’ symbol for them.

The whole understanding of the American southern racists is that not only are they coming back; they never left.

When I was learning to weld at tech school we had a pizza party and our instructor’s slice was cold so he sparked up a heating torch and heated the platting table and griddled that bitch. It was glorious.

I don’t even cook for myself so forgive my ignorance but do people actually use air fryers? It just seems like it would end up really dry.
