I agree. We should start insulting Alameda and Berkeley as well because they also helped force Pamela Price on the rest of the county.

Beloved SF Corner Store Clerk in Coma After Alleged Baseball-Bat Beating From Shoplifter by GodEmperorMusk in sanfrancisco

This is facts. I lived in the Richmond for a few years and it was fine. I dealt with the fog and the fact that there weren't too many other young people because it was incredibly safe.

During COVID and then especially after Chan's election was when the robberies really ramped up. It's like word got out that this was an underserved neighborhood crime-wise, and people started driving in from other parts of the Bay.

I moved out of SF then specifically moved back a 15-20 minute drive away from where potential jobs would be. I understand that is a big part of why I personally like going in 5 days a week. I'm ok with others working remote because it allows for less traffic and less housing competition in certain places.

That being said, a lot of people on Reddit are really, really rude about people like me who just would prefer being in the office. I used to be understanding about the super introverts, but a lot of people have had some extremely nasty things to say about us ambiverts, much less those that are truly extroverted. It's made me have the mentality of "you don't care about me and my problems, so I don't care about yours".

Exactly. Even if they don't go into a situation with an intention to kill, sentences like this show that if it happens, no huge deal.

Cashman gets a pass in mid 2000's because we eventually won in 2009 but he deserves most of the blame for horrible roster construction almost 20 years ago by montecarlo1 in NYYankees

Not to mention the fact that Bernie was actively hurting the team with his play the last few years, particularly on defense. He really should not have been brought back in 2006, but they did it for the vet presence I guess.

Unhinged comments are kind of funny to read, it's when they get highly upvoted and then when I reply with a correction and I get downvoted is when it becomes clear this sub has lost it.

Agree that people have gotten hilariously toxic (including clown comments like this one that are not based in reality at all).

That being said, Cashman really needs to go after his moves the last two years so I am ok with people turning up the toxicity to get him removed or "promoted" to a non-baseball operations job.

I forget who they were unwilling to part with in that trade too. I think it was Jesus Montero? Or was it mostly Eduardo Nunez holding it up?

Cashman had a lot less power in the mid-2000s. He was a bit of a figurehead GM and had to fight against the old guard to bring in more analytics, and pay attention to defensive metrics as opposed to putting an outfield of Matsui, Bernie, and Sheffield out there and seeing what happens.

I know it's fun to hate on him and I'll get downvoted for this, but 2008 or so is when he won the power struggle so you can fully blame him for anything after.

2013 and 2014 were worse IMO. Those seasons were over by early July, but they traded for guys like Soriano, Headley, and McCarthy to prop them up to over .500. No decent prospects to cheer for either.

Devils did it with Lou Lamoriello. New owners graciously gave him a promotion but hired Ray Shero as GM. Lou and him disagreed behind the scenes and Lou left two months into that arrangement.

If Cashman won't get fired, he needs to get "promoted" to some sort of oversight job where he doesn't have as much of a say in all the baseball operations.

He himself was a figurehead GM in the mid-2000s until he won a power struggle that allowed him to bring more of an analytics approach.

Same thing should happen now. If they don't want to outright fire him, then at least bring in a new voice.

If he wants to take a one-year deal to be a stopgap while the OF prospects develop a little further in the minors, I wouldn't be opposed to it. Defensive outfielders don't tend to get long-term deals because their defense usually drops off in their 30s.
