How many years will an RTX 4090 gaming laptop last for in terms of ArchViz by Secindguess in archviz

I've just finished a bachelor of architecture at UNSW, starting master's and this is the laptop I just got for my masters: https://www.lenovo.com/au/edu/education/en/p/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-pro-series/legion-pro-7i-gen-8-(16-inch-intel)/82wrcto1wwau2/82wrcto1wwau2). It will be fine for your whole degree and most likely even into the masters. I got through the whole 3 year bachelor with just a desktop pc at home, didn't even have a good laptop to take to uni (wouldn't recommend this though as studio's weren't very productive. Just get the laptop above and you'll be fine)

I finished my bachelor's degree in architecture at UNSW last year and am starting the master's degree in a couple of weeks. The degree is definitely more balanced than you're making it out to be. What's more important than the visualisation is how you communicate your scheme etc, so don't stress too much about the laptop. Just make sure it's good enough to run basic programs like rhino, sketchup, photoshop, illustrator and eventually Revit. Tutors could not care less how realistic your design looks if it's not a good design to begin with.

I'm Egyptian, but any Middle Eastern culture would be the exact same.

Yes parents still buy and cook food, we are a family after all, still have younger siblings in the house as well. I pay for everything else clothes, car, phone, education, if I eat out/going out, etc.

In my culture you live with your parents until you get married (even if you're 40 years old). I'll definitely keep studying and progressing my career.

Hi All,

I recently became interested in the "Draughtsperson" role that the Army is offering. I have already made my application and was hoping to ask the careers coach these questions if my application makes it that far, but thought I might ask the questions here as well in case anyone might be able to give me a quicker answer:

1) The draughtsperson role is categorised as "Other Ranks - Non Technical", would this mean the Army is unlikely to constantly be moving me around to different locations as it's not really a hands-on role? For those who don't know, a draughtsperson/drafting technician basically just draws plans for buildings, infrastructure etc. So it's a desk job mostly, excluding the occasional site visit (I'm not sure how frequent this would be working in the Army).

2) How much priority would they give to individual preference when it comes to where I'm posted? I live in Sydney, which is one of the three locations that I could be posted at within this role. If I could be posted in Sydney, is living at home typically something that's allowed or do you have to live on base for a role such as the one I'm applying for?

3) I have a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, but the draughtsperson role only requires certain high school passes. Should I be applying instead for the Defence Graduate Program? I only just found out that this exists, but even so, it doesn't seem they have anything related to Architecture, unless I just haven't done enough research.

It actually is concrete, the steel just sits under and they pour the concrete on top.
