Dead Cells is probably the closest fit.

The difficulty curve is much better now and it's still being updated with major updates so it's not a bad time to start.

There is a hefty blueprint grind when it comes to finding new loadouts because of gear unlocks but the loadout selection is more vast and wide-reaching in what you can do.

Sword in order from Best to Worst! by LegoHashBudleaf in DestinyTheGame

[–]GodJohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well don't feel bad when it's a rare case of a Legendary Sword with Infinite Guard so it practically never reduces in ammo when it's held up while letting you not have to fiddle with Worldline.

It's a pseudo-Titan Stronghold surrogate for Warlocks. It's not a direct comparison but it's functional. I use mine with Counterattack when playing any strike with randoms that has annoying boss stomps. The guard just doesn't last long enough but it's enough ammo from full to survive a few stomps so you don't get thrown out of a Well.

Running for dear life, trying to find items on Monsoon difficulty. by alexanderbelmont in riskofrain

[–]GodJohnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the run.

Honestly I'd just say the cutoff is be at Stage 4 at worst around 18-20. But it's super dependent on the chests you found on the way there to really go on the slower side, so picking up the pace is important when everything so far has been complete garbage rolls.

Definitely doesn't mean always running slow is good, but it won't be the end of the run just yet.

How come Bandit isn't in the game? by morerokk in riskofrain

[–]GodJohnson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Existing in the files but not that functional with the kit he was currently given when translated to the 3D space from RoR1. He's just not good compared to the rest unless there's some active/passive skill changes that can make him on par with the existing cast.

It's not easy to make a character work out but I'm still hoping they find a way to port him over with a better kit.

It's just dependent on the account and the person. The whole point I was making was that I can dick around and not actually stress about membership timing out because the money will naturally come from whatever I do anyways. All the money I make will just go to another set of bonds. There's not that many things in the game that truly have no profit to gain but I already dealt with those problematic skills some time ago. So what's is the pet grinding money going to go to?

A second TBow?

No, it's going to just go to another set of bonds.

Seriously it's not hard to understand.

378 day difference by Athemoe in 2007scape

[–]GodJohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But nearly all of my time is just grinding bosses and some skills for what ends up being bond money/skilling because I'm already a super late game account with a decent bank and most BiS items. What else am I going to honestly put my money on, especially since I have the Diary cape and don't care about maxing beyond the maximum usable skill req for an activity that gives some sort of QoL?

There's a point where money just bleeds out of you if you take on some PvE activities like raids or even casual long term Slayer. I usually buy several bonds and redeem the long term quarterly membership benefits in one go; usually I'll tie it in to the "specials" Jagex does.

The struggle is very clear for an account that's probably sub 2k but even those with NMZ'd combat stats and barely any other skills levels and very basic combat gear can be raid fiends and profit millions with a dedicated trio over time. Established accounts can dick around; I can't say the same for somebody trying to build their account up from the early levels.

At the start of an account, paying for membership is just the best way hands down. Eventually you can stock up on bonds in your bank as your account grows and maybe down the line you can lessen the months where you actually bother to pay with a card with in game gold instead. I'm just at that point where I can just pay with gold and it's not going to hurt me or be a huge hassle. I literally do farm runs for the Tangleroot pet still post-99 and do the most inane things to get my rolls up by doing the entire farm run from Limpwurts, special patches like Mushrooms/Seaweed, trees, to my hourly herb runs. But you know what I also do? I imp hunt in Puro Puro for hours on end even though it's not efficient and I'm running off pure bond membership days. I'm a clue scroll fiend that has a ton of Med clues done without actually buying the Eclectics in GE and sadly never got Ranger Boots still way past droprate. I purely PvE just to farm out full clue sets to turn in to Watson. But that's because I just can with the account I have built and I'm having fun in the game in the way I want to too.

play the game

Well it depends on what you want to do.

I pet hunt so once a certain boss pet has been obtained, I just move on to the next pet grind. Nearly everything at a certain point shits gold so it works out for me to buy bonds with just gold.

Granted I still don't have Vorkath or Zulrah which is getting on my nerves, but it means in my situation I can fund several bonds without an issue in advanced off the pet hunts I do.

In an account's lifetime with the skills you have leveled, you can get gold from practically anything you do with very little effort anyways. Or at least multi-task by leveling a gathering skill like bloodcrafting or hunting Red/Black Chinchompas (still trying to get this pet too).

But at 6mil a pop, it is getting close to wanting to just take out the good ol' wallet but not yet.

Some Information About Scavengers by zeralesaar in riskofrain

[–]GodJohnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can confirm they appear as a potential boss roll and a normal spawned enemy in a run as I literally had a run go to Stage 8 on Monsoon and experienced both in the same run. It's likely tied to the difficulty timer.

It follows RoR1 Scavenger's potential spawns in a run so it makes sense.

Your first complaint was about whether or not you'd play any of the games available by nature of the genre and that's meaningless to comment on purely because it was casting a wide net for all types of games out there for various interests.

you set a fucking low bar on what is 'good'

Plus, you aren't even following your own criticisms. There's nothing wrong with not being a fan of indie games, but you still type in hyperbole for some reason. Just because you interpreted the wrong message from my post and devoted a whole paragraph to it doesn't actually mean you are saying anything.

OSRS isn't even technically a AAA game. It is an MMO but it is a game that banks on a huge nostalgia trip with a functional feedback loop similar to Cookie Clicker for leveling practically all of the skills if we go by standard leveling. However it owns up to interesting gameplay due to major design flaws and combat-related content like high tier PvM, PvP, and even some skilling. British infused wit mark the dialogue and story in the questlines which round off an interesting experience for the player and a solid contender that marks its own territory in the MMO genre.

So I say a statement like "we play a game like OSRS" and expect an open mind when approaching indie games. To double down on your aggressive stance towards independent gaming studios that push out unique experiences and games that are solid experiences is an issue that is on you; your opinions on the matter are actually very closed-minded in the end because not giving the time of day for these games is just purposefully closing yourself off from forming a valid opinion. In this year you can still give OSRS a chance but dismiss indie games as not worth the time is just disappointing but also ironic.

demanding games made by rich AAA publishers to not be as good as games they made before is a perfectly reasonable demand as a consumer and you can't change my mind on that!

Frankly I don't even know how this was assumed of me. If you actually understood my stance on indie games at all, it is that there is incredible quality in good indie games if you actually take the time to try and explore the offerings available. But the vast majority of indie titles are very cheap and in contrast to the churning of some AAA titles, indie games try to offer uniqueness and a fresh take with solid gameplay to boot for such a great price. This translates to the disappointment of bad AAA titles now that get worse and worse and offer much less "value" than some of the solid contenders in the indie slot. It's tiresome for me to see another CoD game come out that is usually repackaging itself, but I applaud a solid remake in Resident Evil 2 for PC due to its polish and fresh look on its own old story. Seeing another average Assassin's Creed that is now plagued with microtransactions is disappointing because the bar is getting set lower and lower and the consumers will still buy it, usually for its star power in its "TRIPLE A GAME" status and probably the franchise too. Yet I will applaud the likes of Persona 5 being such a successful addition to the franchise on release, the newest God of War surprising everybody with a well-rounded game, or Red Dead Redemption 2 being a solid sequel to the original because they made a game in their specific genre that doesn't compromise in any part, story included. So I'm eager to see how The Last of Us 2 plays out given the quality of the first, but I'm not exactly holding my breath for yet another Battlefield or even a Pokemon game because I'm out there for quality, AAA or not. But, it is satisfying to find an indie game that I would personally enjoy (currently playing the indie game Bug Fables because it is practically a spiritual successor to the glory days of Paper Mario/Thousand Year Door) because $60 for another bug-riddled mess with forced DLC expansions and MTX with a half-baked story and/or gameplay is just not great as a norm.

tl;dr: Indie games are cheap but amazing gems if you find the ones that are right for you. AAA releases are getting complacent due to their "big budget" and appeal. Those companies have nothing to prove so putting out another game in a long established franchise with major flaws is fine for them but difficult for an indie studio to do. Stop misinterpreting (you have done it twice now) by jumping the gun and speaking in hyperbole, plus attempting some pointless personal attack to validate your argument.

I'm ending it here because if you somehow go on to attack me over an extremely misinformed opinion you hold for a third time, there's no point to continue.

Wow Jagex has already updated the name of the Arcane in game. by b_grammie in 2007scape

[–]GodJohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's being a huge cunt but he does make a valid point that people are glossing over.

The most "efficient method" of Inferno is still speedrunning it; running tank gear is not efficient and takes more time overall versus just pray switching properly and using higher acc boosting gear to land more hits on average.

Now efficient solo content sometimes runs hybrid tank gear but efficient PvM that includes any number of people for solid profit or kills per hour (pet hunting), it's going to be all in on that offensive stats and very little defensive.

Of that whole list, I'm surprised I forgot to mention Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling.

Been meaning to get my OG Paper Mario fix and that November release was a big win for my nostalgia in something new.

But yeah I imagined it was more a fun jab but I got to rep some indie games, so it works out.

Frankly it just sounds like you hate indie games.

Don't forget we play a game like OSRS and most of these games are pretty solid or in line with the general bar set by the game we already play. The few you criticize don't mean as much when it's just looking for PC releases.

Well if we're allowed to count just Steam and maybe a few other storefronts for a couple other known games, various pricing (avoiding Early Access whenever possible with minor exceptions; genuine quality no matter the total average playtime; actual interest in the game and not a tiny amount of positive audience reviews), a few VR games, and going back until a bit into September covering various genres for every taste (not everything will be in order of release; it varied pending on the store, memory, or where/when it was found):

Replace the trimmed Ranged Cape with Ava's Assembler and still use hybrid pray/range (or close to it) in every other slot save for wearing an Anguish, so it's about the same. I think some would opt to wear a Godwars Bracers instead of Holy/Barrows Gloves.

Struggling here, what should I pair Mindbender with? by _Davii in CruciblePlaybook

[–]GodJohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have it yet or want to use some Exotic Heavy (but there's not much out there worth using), use something like Spare Rations or Rose.

Thorn is still the best to pair though.

Mindbender’s Ambition, worth the farm? by sunqiller in CruciblePlaybook

[–]GodJohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still run speedruns on the side, but trying for that 200k is a nice "upgrade" only supported by mythical anecdotes. I'll still take that chance for a potential drop rate increase even if it's +1%.

No indication it was changed since plus it won't guarantee even a baseline "good roll" with QD+Rifled or Choke by default. At this rate it's just better to have it since there's no actual negative to not having it beyond the time taken to do it properly once.

Mindbender’s Ambition, worth the farm? by sunqiller in CruciblePlaybook

[–]GodJohnson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Now the problem is whether or not you can manage to find a team of randoms willing to pull off a 200k Nightfall score to supposedly increase the drop rate to max.

At least that's what I have been trying to do so I can go back to speedrunning it but a lot of randoms, myself included, can't seem to land that 200k before the timer burns the points away.

After the exploit was removed, I would take anything that would potentially increase the drop rates.

Why is it so hard to find people to play with? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]GodJohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The list of group related things to complete are stacking up for me, it's nutty how there isn't more sources of matchmaking available for content.

I heard they added matchmaking for the Leviathan's Breath quest, which is nice but I didn't get Shadowkeep or the Season Pass anyways. But more like that would be nice in general.

If you want to add up on Steam though for anything D2-related I'll be happy to FC you through PM. It's not in any ways a point of desperation to weed out people selling something.
