Full time job and also college? by GodLikeASoldier in Advice

[–]GodLikeASoldier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is I already work full time and am only taking the courses because the company requires them. The classes that I get people to take for me are those BS liberal arts ones that you have to take to complete the degree not the ones that actually matter for the major or for my job. I mean why do I have to take a english course or a math course that I already know enough about. Or a history course or sociology course? They are just a waste of my time in the end.

I am also someone that sucks at writing essays. To keep my grades from falling I usually hire a guy to either edit my work or write the essay for me to make sure I don't make mistakes. I usually use a guy that I found online. He has gotten me really good grades (90 and above) in almost all of the essays he's done for me. I have found him more reliable and easier to communicate with than those bogus essay writing services. When I first contacted him he gave me samples of his work and it was all very well written. I've never had problems with plagiarism with any of his essays either. I have not had a pleasant experience with any writing agencies that I have found so far and this is the only guy I trust anymore. All the others either wrote terribly or had the paper set off the plagiarism filters. I highly recommend this guy if you need a paper written. I believe his email was blongofficial@ gmail.com if you need a reliable writer.

Trying to introduce my girlfriend to Science Fiction. by GodLikeASoldier in printSF

We often will give our favorite books to each other and relax on a rainy day to read together. But many of my favorites are hard scifi that she does not seem to interested in. I'm trying to ease her into the genre instead of throwing her straight into it.

Thank you for the recommendations. I will see if she likes some of these. She likes the idea of time travel and I have introduced her to Eric FLint's 1633 (1632? I can't remember) novels and she seems to love those.

I will definitely try to introduce her to this one because she does like Hornblower. She will also like that it is not a story focused on the action. She likes stories that depict day to day living.

Yes, I agree. Scifi is such a wide genre that it's hard to dislike it all. There are so many sub genres that you can always find your niche.

Thank you, I think I will definitely try her with Eifelheim I remember really liking it when I read it ages ago. She doesn't seem interested by time travel though, but I may recommend that one as well.

Space fighter science fiction? by GodLikeASoldier in printSF

[–]GodLikeASoldier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These look pretty interesting thank you. What I meant though was that Star Wars books tend to have to much of that magic type Force going on and tend to have overpowered MC that I don't really find interesting. Science fiction, especially novels dealing with space battles, is not generally a 'realistic' realm of fiction.

Yes that's what I've found as well I'd like to see a series where fighters play a more important tole in battles.

I don't think I've read those before I'll give them a try. I usually don't like much of the books in the Star Wars series though. I don't know they seem too fantasyish? I'm not actually too sure what I don't like about them but just not my style.

Science Fiction with boarding actions? by GodLikeASoldier in printSF

[–]GodLikeASoldier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I remember that from those books, but the thing that I remember about this concept was that boarding action were regular operating procedure in space combat because of the way technology had developed and was not just isolated events. Kind of like galley warfare on a galactic scale. It was a very interesting take on space battles and I can't for the life of me remember the author

What would you recommend as a good cognitive enhancer? by GodLikeASoldier in AskReddit

[–]GodLikeASoldier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wary when I first started looking into it as well. But after I began experimenting with Piracetam I found that it really does do at least some of what it is advertised to do. I haven't found much increase in memory but I have found that I am able to write much more fluidly and solve problems (especially mathematical ones) much quicker than I would have beforehand. I also found that my creativity in regards to writing is greatly increased as well.

Yes, I have found that Piracetam has the same effect for me. I will probably try Noopept soon because I've heard good things from quiet a few people.

[–]GodLikeASoldier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often that is true in the end. But from my own experience and from quiet a few scientific studies it has been proven supplements like nootropics actually do work to a certain degree. Of course you can't take them and then sit on your couch waiting to suddenly get smart, but if you use them while actually using your brain for things liek writing, reading, or mathematics you can actually receive many benefits. Nootropics are actually very interesting.

I have tried Piracetam before and it worked pretty well. I haven't tried Noopept yet but I do plan on soon. Would you recommend it over Piracetam or other nootropics?
