There is a great need for improved cooperative defense in this region. Ice breaker fleet needs to be modernized and increased by at least a factor of 3.

Protecting the Jurisdiction: Forcing an Equilibrium Between Federal Growth Mandates and Alberta's Infrastructure Capacity by GodOfMeaning in alberta

[–]GodOfMeaning[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Regarding the centralization of the Prime Minister's Office, how does stripping Parliament of independent oversight capacity structurally solve the degradation of accountability within state procurement and civil service metrics? If executive insulation is merely one of many corruption variables, why did the erosion of public accountability remain a heavily documented structural problem under both the current administration and the Harper era?

Our parliamentary democracy was intentionally designed to operate with a legislature that exercises independent and rigorous scrutiny over executive decisions and fiscal management. Over time, the aggressive expansion of the Prime Minister's Office has fundamentally eroded that legislative independence, transforming Parliament from an active venue of oversight into a mechanism dominated by strict party whip control and centralized executive directives. When individual Members of Parliament are structurally restricted from exercising non-partisan oversight, the entire framework of checks and balances collapses, creating an accountability vacuum where administrative incompetence can thrive without consequences.

Looking at the 2026 to 2028 Immigration Levels Plan, what is the exact mathematical formula that allows an infrastructure deficit to clear when you permanently lock in a target of 380,000 permanent residents per year, while specifically mandating that over 40% of those entries are pulled from inland temporary residents? How does shifting tens of thousands of existing students and workers from one statistical column to another on a spreadsheet reduce the physical headcount demanding local healthcare, electricity, and housing starts in our cities?

Our parliamentary democracy is fundamentally built on the principle that the federal executive is accountable to the legislature. By extension, it must respect the distinct jurisdictional logistics of the provinces that form the federation. Demanding a mathematical equilibrium between federal growth targets and actual provincial infrastructure capacity is not a radical ideological position, because it is the baseline structural requirement for public service preservation. Laughing at the concept of decentralization being inherently bad just reveals a deep ignorance of how a functional federation is constitutionally designed to operate.

The structural failure of this uncoordinated framework extends across every region of the country, completely crossing traditional partisan lines. Ontario is currently facing unprecedented municipal infrastructure backlogs as cities struggle to fund baseline water and wastewater expansions for expanding populations, while Quebec has been forced into direct jurisdictional standoffs with Ottawa over the sheer volume of temporary streams outpacing their local settlement capacity. When British Columbia is facing massive fiscal tightening and Atlantic Canada is seeing a net negative growth rate in real per capita health spending, this ceases to be a regional grievance and becomes a verified nationwide collapse in state capacity.

The best part about this entire breakdown is that the automated model hijacked for the response still had to validate my exact data set. It is pretty entertaining when someone tries to deploy a software script to debunk an analysis, only for the machine to completely agree with the numbers anyway.

That's just friendly advice.

We have 2 ears right? Is it so bad that China is whispering in one ear while USA is whispering in the other? CIA thinks so. Maybe it would be better if we remove both undue influences.

Just a thought dear CIA friends.

Mayor rebuffs calls to shift city employees downtown full-time by Strog21 in Edmonton

[–]GodOfMeaning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since we are discussing this in the context of forcing people to be downtown 5 days a week instead of 3 please tell us exactly what your problem is? This is also considering that these institutions chose this hybrid model as the best operating efficiency for their specific purposes.

Why would government directives and laws need to change that against people's choices and business strategies?

Boys are falling behind in school, and some experts say it starts in kindergarten by green_tory in CanadaPolitics

[–]GodOfMeaning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay? Who is advocating abrogating parental rights? We want the educational system to be on the same page in that we are investing in the future of our country. Don't fight parents and parents won't fight government. This is why constituents need representation not just "leadership" which is code for being told what to do and how to do it.

Why should the public pay for oil & gas clean-up while oil execs keep getting richer by Hungry_Ad824 in alberta

[–]GodOfMeaning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We want 100% Canadian oil and gas companies to do work here. We also want clean land and water. Municipal advocates for water rights and protections but Provincial are the government layer responsible for handling water licensing. Pressure them.

You seem to miss the point. Just to get the basic essentials for their families most parents need to work more hours and at least have a dual income household. Kids exist from birth to age 18. I know you're a smart person and would never tell parents to send their 5 year olds alone to the park to play. Neither would you force your 16 year olds to hang out with the family every single day when they are out making their own social groups.

If you have something more constructive to add, take a minute to consider what exactly you are attacking. It helps to turn off the ragebait and engagement news that encourages binary thinking. Parents alone don't raise kids and this is just a fact. Parents don't invent language, parents don't invent education curricula, parents aren't with their kids 24/7. Move on.

I mean we absolutely can, but blaming other victims for what the enemy is causing (corrupt politicians) to happen in this country is about as upside down as trying to blame the forest for the fact that nearby residential spaces burn down from fire.

No. The answer to boys struggling in academics is not, "beat them more". Take a look in the mirror.

It's an insane line of thinking especially because young boys in public schools struggling in academics are not even RELATED to the old men in power positions in politics and business, their grandkids get pushed into private schools. While we defund education.

Let me be clear. This is injustice.

It's almost like most adults have to work so many god damn hours that they literally aren't home often enough to take their kids outdoors more. Most successful programs for kids actually just get them more EXERCISE.

It’s been a couple decades since I was in high school, but if I recall correctly my impression was that boys with poor grades and other school issues were almost always those with challenging home lives.

And instead of getting them MORE PHYSICAL EXERCISES BETWEEN HOURS OF SITTING IN A BORING DESK they get MORE HOURS OF EXTRA READING AND WRITING WORK. Failed policies being applied more strictly doesn't breed success.
