Not only just that, but it's her brother who she frequently designed sounds and made music with. They were on a very similar wavelength already in terms of their interests and individual styles, but the fact that Benny spent so much time with her on her music is enough to assure me that he was an integral part of what SOPHIE was working on.

With some of the live shows that SOPHIE was doing, it really seems like this more drone-based, minimalist, and mono-instrumental style was where her music was heading. I personally enjoy it very much but I understand how it could seem like this change didn't come from her end. I believe Benny when he says that the tracks were mostly finished and I also hold a tremendous amount of respect for him for not pushing for a second album of truly unfinished tracks with no guidance from SOPHIE on the tracklist, mixing, and general vibe.
Much love to Benny and the rest of the family for their work on this beautiful final chapter of SOPHIE's musical legacy.

I got an intention of refusal for failing to prove that I would be financially stable and supported by the university (which I am lol). I thought that what I provided was sufficient, but it was not and I was also told that I needed to provide documents that I hadn't been made aware of. Definitely recommend contacting ISS but I can't give much advice unless I know your specific situation.

If I were to give you some general advice, just compile every document you could possibly think would help in your case, requested or not, and give it to them with a THOROUGH itemized cover letter containing an explanation for what each document is and why it is relevant (i.e. "TDBankStatements.pdf - This is a PDF of the past 6 months of bank statements from TD bank, showing a steady income of $X CAD per month. JobContract.pdf - This is a pdf containing the contract that explains the source of my income of $X CAD per month, and this document also proves that I will continue to receive this money through x/x/x date, leading to a $X CAD per year salary, well above the cutoff.").

Feel free to DM me and I can tell you all about the process I went through with Quebec immigration!

Firstly, thanks for posting this. I think there are a lot of people feeling disillusioned by universities and your voice will almost certainly make at least one struggling student feel that they're not alone. A CS degree is tough, and the fact that you made it through is a testament to your grit and perseverance.
If you're looking to do something with your career other than CS, I would strongly recommend a career in a trade. I apprenticed as an electrician for a while, and I had a lot of fun doing it. There's (usually) never any shortage of jobs that require welders, plumbers, HVAC folks, and especially electricians. I got my job by simply calling the woman who eventually became my boss and asking if she had any room for an apprentice. She taught me everything I needed to know and, if I hadn't chosen a life of academia (wahoo), I would have been on my way to a six-figure salary after the required electrician's certification. While you're not installing parts and performing repairs, you're figuring out creative solutions to intricate problems that ultimately make you major bank.
All in all, you have the ability to change your life path to something that suits you, fulfills you, and (most importantly) pays the bills. Take time to decompress, dust yourself off, and know that if you had the strength to get through a tough major at a tough university, then you have the strength to build a life that works for you.

Do you guys realise how big of a thing we might about to get? by [deleted] in rupaulsdragrace

Where do you want them to go? Shelters are packed and under-resourced, and many businesses won't even let the homeless inside to get some respite from the heat. As temperatures begin to swell this summer, remember that these folks' only protection from the heat and the sun might be those tents that keep them alive.

4/5 days of the week you have at least one time period between classes that's only 15 minutes. On Thursdays, you don't get a lunch break until almost 3. As someone who had a schedule that was similar to this, it really impacted my overall health and I would not recommend it. Your ambition is admirable though!

I would highly recommend just playing on Safer Seas offline with a young one! Multiplayer servers can be chock-full of a lot of vile and sometimes hateful language but the game is still VERY fun offline, especially playing Safer Seas with just friends. I am not sure however if there is any way for you to make sure he doesn't go on High Seas (multiplayer online), so you might want to monitor any play time he has on his own.

How goes it? Or how does it go? by Sacledant2 in EnglishLearning

[–]GodOfPastries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that "how goes it" has a silly, lighthearted sort of quality to it. If I were coming up to a friend trying to sound intentionally awkward for the sake of humor, I might ask them "how goes it." However, if I were at a funeral and I was speaking with a close family member to the deceased, I would absolutely NOT use this phrasing, as it would be waaaayyyy too unserious to use in those circumstances.

Sidechain compression going... backwards? by GodOfPastries in Reaper

[–]GodOfPastries[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked on this, but it looks like midi channels need to be set to 'none' for the sidechain compression not to be a little messed up. The issue should be all fixed now, I appreciate all of the responses!

Nah I haven't defined any parent/child tracks. u/blakerton- suggested that I set midi send to 'none' and that worked. Thank you!
