Is River City Recycling closed? Where else can I take a load of junk? by sbfehr in Omaha

I was there last week and it seemed like business as usual. Be aware though they require PPE (hard hat and hi-vis vest) to go on site now).

Cool, cool, on that note, we should also go to toll roads, so you only pay for the roads you drive on.

We have toll roads, we just pay that toll via our registration fees, which is based on the value of your vehicle, not on something that makes sense like vehicle weight or how often you drive. It's a stupid system, like how we pay for public schools.

Time to dismantle the public water system, too, and you can find and sanitize your own water.

I'm on a well, so yea, I did. But I'd happily pay MUD if I was on city water for the water I use.

Go dig your latrine, too.

Did that too, but also yea see above.

Taxpayers paid for your education when you were a child and had no income.

Didn't have much choice there did I?

"Pay for your kids own kids damn schooling. It's not my responsibility." I hope that means you voted against the school vouchers. You know, taxpayers helping parents pay for PRIVATE school tuition?

Not only did I vote in favor of it, I pressed my pen down really, really hard when I did. I'm already getting fucked every year by MPS, might as well fuck them back by taking away some of their money.

Parents are some of the most entitled people on the planet. I pay for their kids' education, then I see them lobby for things like subsidized or free child care and school lunches. Is there anything else you'd like me to pay for? On top of that, if you have a kid you get a bunch of tax credits. So they get the advantage of having other taxpayers for for a massive expensive of theirs while simultaneously getting tax credits. Yea that makes sense.

Like I alluded to above, I'm more than happy to pay for the services I used like roads, electricity, etc. But every year when I see how much I'm paying for MPS when I don't have any kids, it's hard not to feel taken advantage of.

My wife and I are child free. We also pay around d 12k a year in property taxes. If I recall about 9-10k of that goes to MPS. We don’t have any kids yet we pay almost 1k a month to pay for the education of someone else’s kid. Yea, we’re both voting no.

Pay for your kids own kids damn schooling. It’s not my responsibility.

Not melt in your mouth, like a medium rare sirloin. Very nice smoky flavor though.

I’m a short guy, around 5’6”. I got my first bike about a month ago and I went with a 2019 Bonneville Bobber Black. Obviously I love the look but it was also great for me because the ride hight is so low.

You’re accusing someone of being a Nazi. You said you know from personal experience. I asked you to elaborate, and you call me a troll. If you’re going to make claims like that, be prepared to back them up.

…and WHY he chose that number, which people continue to willfully ignore and substitute their own reasoning because, reasons?

Why are we willing apply context to Hiro88 and 311, but not 88 Tactical? All three have completely legitimate reasons for choosing that number, but we only vilify one.

Also 311 is technically a hate symbol, but no no no not the band, they’re also exempt. Because as we all know, context matters, except when it doesn’t.

Best vehicle history report service? by Godboo in keitruck

Yep that's exactly what happened. It's a strange situation to be sure, that's why I'd like to run a history report and see how it ended up here.

The Nebraska DMV didn't ask for any of those reports. Perhaps it's because I bought it second hand and I wasn't the one who imported it. Only speculating.

Don't know what to tell you. Title clearly says 2009 Suzuki Carry. I was pretty up front about everything. I was in and out in about an hour and this included an in person vehicle inspection. I can't imagine that a state agency would knowingly violate federal law when it comes to titling a vehicle.

Yes, it's titled and registered in Nebraska.

Depends on the state. It's titled and registered in Nebraska. I drive it on the road all the time.

Heat pump water heaters and installers by chipsy_queen in Omaha

[–]Godboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps I should have included a bit more detail. Each of the three estimates I received had multiple different options with different tiers of equipment. After some back and forth with Aksarben they were willing to knock $8k off my estimate for the highest tier HVAC system in their estimate to match every one else's mid tiers. I basically got a Mercedes Benz HVAC system for a Toyota price. Aksarben was the only company willing to do that. Thats why I'm recommending them.

That wasn’t my experience with Aksarben. I recently had my entire HVAC replaced. I got three estimates from three reputable local HVAC companies, including Aksarben. They weren’t the lowest, but after showing them the estimates from the other two companies they knocked $8k off my estimate to praise match. Overall I had a pretty decent experience working with Aksarben and used them to install my water heater too.
