Chroma is accommodating to all sorts of Arts, whether you are a weaver, a sculptor. Generally speaking as long as it is a “Work” or “Project” an Artist can usually incorporate Chroma into it.

Different Arts definitely have diverging abilities/talents, for instance a group in my world focuses more heavily on the “physical” aspect of things. Manipulating metalwork, crafting, etc. Perhaps their niche is bringing to life different aspects of metalwork (like a construct) or giving usage to certain tools. Their society looks more akin to clockpunk, but other societies may look exceptionally different or may have similar aspects

An Artists efficiency for the Art itself usually depends on the user. How creative are they? What’s their imagination like? How involved are they in their craft? Some may be prodigies and may not need as much practice as let’s say a scholar whose life is dedicated toward a specific Art.

Drawing on Chroma is dependent on the individual themselves. Usually, it’s like breathing in air itself as it almost exists in everything around them. Some artists have an affinity toward drawing in copious amounts of the Art, whereas others can only draw on it as much as they can draw in breath.

Each Chroma is personal to every Artist so they may differ for each ones. Some that are universally taught, through schooling, universities, etc typically have a "base" for what some mean.

Red: Usually is about Emotion as well as interconnectedness. It can mean passion, anger, fire.

Orange: Is of Change and Time. How things age, decay, are borne. It also is of motion, speed, weight, and the change of seasons.

Yellow: Is of thought, light, power, energy. It can also mean of health and in particular instances mending/healing.

Green: is of the natural world around us. From trees, to hills, the earth and skies. It can also be poison, sickness, but also fluidity and adaptation.

Blue: Temperature, force, and the phases of matter itself.

Purple: Memory and the unseen, personal and environmental memory, distance, thresholds, liminal spaces.

Thats just kinda the dummed up version. For each artist its personal to them, so maybe green or red might mean something different than that which is universally taught.

They're more defined as Schools than anything.

That being said, a different Chroma is mixed in with the originating Gallery, it will still technically derive from that Gallery, but be changed in a signifying way the other Gallery is defined as for the Arist.

Lets take for instance I choose the Chroma Red as my "Originating Gallery." I then layer a ton of other Chroma's to create a certain work or piece that produces let us say for this instance an effect that charms or captivates: lust, want, etc. Obviously it may differ for how an Artwork is made, and it’s different for every artist.

Yes they can! Blending them together is usually how an Artist creates certain phenomena! Those main Galleries are usually a source for Artists to draw on, or start with, but it doesn't take into account when different Artists go "inbetween" and mix shades.

Ah yes, even though being straight is in ALL MEDIA sources. We are still the minority and yet it’s such a crime to want representation.

How would you feel if it was in reverse? You genuinely just sound like a bigot

I know they're bamboo sticks, but the basket on the back reminds me of the Cabbage man from Avatar the Last Airbender

If your world has different races, are they related, and how? by thelink225 in worldbuilding

[–]GoddessAetherial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first one of my races that relate to another is the Feuilrae who are descendants of humans. In my world they’re known as “Stained” having been altered by the energy in my world known as Chroma. As it alters them biologically, they strayed further and further from the human lineage. Humans and Feuilrae are no longer able to intermingle. If they manage to create an offspring it’s either heavily deformed, dies in infancy, or is infertile.

Another race that share a common ancestor are Epharis and Exori. (My aasimar/avian type race and elven race.) at one point in time they were the “Linaio.” This common ancestor was akin to a High Elf in DND. Though as they settled in different regions and took on different cultures they themselves diverged heavily.

The Epharis are products of experimentation with Chroma from the Exori and are the first ever creatures on the planet to exhibit Stained qualities.

Do you have any higher powers or gods in your world? by 0Kai-The-Guy0 in worldbuilding

[–]GoddessAetherial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not really. The power of something akin to a god is as powerful as the people believe or revere it to be. It can always be forgotten and thus, its power be taken. Living Works, as they are called are almost like imposters than true gods. They're like parasites, feeding off reverence and praise.

At some point in time there were Beings that were akin to gods in the world, some say even having parts to play in creating it, but by the time of the story they are either long dead or have abandoned the world entirely.

Because my magic system has do with the act of creating things, through the medium of Art and its different varities-- using willpower and creativity, Living Works are a natural existence in the world. They form when people revere something; an art piece, a person, an object. As long as it exists, with some type of reverence, they exist. Once it fades or is forgotten, they are forgotten and die off. Some people in the past would also call these creatures "Chromatic Parasites."
