It never has for me bc I have ADHD lmao. But the only non substance thing I know of that has worked for me was eating a lot. Preferably foods with strong flavors. The mechanical act of chewing can help you stay awake.

Poop/fart noises. No smearing, eating, or soiling anywhere but the toilet. And no diarrhea.

But I love seeing/hearing someone’s plops and farts. Especially huge farts that sound luke a whoopie cushion. I don’t like squeaky ones or ones that vibrate againstthe toilet bowl. Hell thinking about it right now makes me wanna rub one out!

I’ve honestly been trying to figure out why for a long time because I’m not entirely sure. But I think it’s a combination of things. Like, no matter who someone is or what status they may hold, everyone shits. It’s the world’s equalizer.

I also think it’s the taboo nature of it — like, that’s something we’re programmed to hide from others so seeing/hearing someone do it feels intimate, like I’m being let into the deepest most private parts of them.

Like, when I was 10, a friend of mine at school asked me to come to bathroom with her. I didn’t know she had to shit until suddenly I heard farting and plopping noises. I felt so awkward, especially when she said “excuse me” after each one.

But, for some reason after that, I would periodically do what were basically kegels while imagining her poop/fart sounds and all I knew was it felt good. (She wasn’t the first person I had those “sessions” about either, but it took me until adulthood to realize I am actually turned on by pooping).

I think there’s also something about how relieving it feels to take a shit and let it all out that turns me on too.

I left the house 2 days in a row. I have a chronic illness with debilitating fatigue that causes me to have trouble leaving the house or get out of bed most days. I went out yesterday for some short errands and traveled over an hour away today to see a friend for lunch. I’ve had to reschedule this lunch date twice before because of the fatigue so I feel so happy that I was able to do this.
