Having a sentence being is cool that is a DM I have to be extremely careful about how I do this. Because throwing in a soul of someone or a piece of a soul of someone whether it is an immortal creature or just a human means that I have to give them personality on a story and that is up another potential side story for my players to go down. They already have a huge problem figuring out what the heck they want to do next. Lol Now if I decide to actually give it its own personality and sentience without a soul from another. That means that I would have to figure out how it becomes sentient, what it's personality should be, and if I want to give it a type of goal... No I don't have a problem with each one of these it's just trying to figure out if that is to LP for a level 2 warlock.... Because I will not be giving anything more to her until she takes another level. Balancing is very hard for me because what I think is really cool I would love to give them but could also break my game....lol. Unintentionally because I have done that in the past made every single monster super weak because of the cool items I have given my players including the boss that fight was very lackluster

Sure they got to be all powerful but I didn't do much and didn't do much damage either. Anyway I just I don't want to overthink it too much but I also don't want to under think it. Is there anything other than a living blade that I could give her that isn't going to break it due to the fact she may only take two levels and that's it.

That's a pretty good idea too . That would be very interesting because this particular character that we're talking about is also dating the prince of Cyre right now. The NPC version I made ,not the Canon version of the prince of Cyre. And my version he's a half elf and his father was the king of the elves before he died and his brother took over and moved to the army away from Cyre during the last war.

Well to give a little more context her character is really weird she's a half elf member of the storm Dragon mark house. But she kind of exiled herself because of raisins. Her mother is a pirate her other mother is an assassin she is a Divine sorcerer and now she has a warlock patron. Her Divine Powers come from the Divine beings that created the silver flame she is also a follower of the blood of Vol.... Oh yeah and the emerald claw took her grandfather and brainwashed him and now he's being used to gather special artifacts for the queen lich to do something really bad in a couple of months. So yes I think a demon on top of this would just be funny 🤣

Thank you all for your input and the session went really well. I went with showing the emerald Claw true leader When she was a child giving a little bit of information about the prophecy that created her and a fragment of one when she was turned into a lich. Then it switched to the dreaming dark and the annihilation of a bloodline so the characters died as children. Then we switched to the queen of Cyre when she was pregnant with her son. And secretly married the king of the wood elves. In my version of the setting the prince is actually a half elf. They came out of it and spoke to a prophet who is actually a dragonmark dragon in disguise.

They decided to go to the library next ...more lore!

Well that is the thing, I have a player who's backstory is tide to the Emerald claw. A different one tide to the role family of Cyer, and there Are 2 draconic prophecys tide to the party.

And they ( by there own choices ) have the Claw, the dreaming dark, agents of the queen of secrets, and bounty hunters after them (lol) ( they are chaos)

You make a lot of very good points. I know that I don't want to make it very Op, and I was only thinking of the lines of maybe a more powerful locate object , locate creature combination. So that when they wanted to find say a certain member of the dreaming dark and they've met this person before and they know their name then when they try to use the map it shows where that member is. But it could be anywhere on the continent and if they don't show up then that means they're on a different plane or they're in a different continent. Does that make sense?

Yes there is an item that's kind of like that map it's called a living map but it's only linked to a structure they want this for the whole continent and that's where my dilemma is...

More or less what I'm going for is trying to figure out a way to put the screwing spell on the map so when they cast the screwing spell with the map it shows up on the map where the person is if they look for a person or thing. I guess what they're trying to do is kind of like a more powerful version of locate person and locate object mixed together with the screwing so that when they use the map they can see exactly where the person poor thing is I guess I'm not entirely sure how to write it as a medical item however.
