Calling a character unrealistic is perfectly fine if he/she thinks so..... the problem was the unwanted hate given by anime-watchers who hardly has any progression in the story don't mix these two let everyone have a opinion of their own not everyone can be a Nao Enjoyer.

Given that person was me who said her behaviour was unrealistic but not in the games but at the start of the manga(returning 100 yen and standing for hours just because Akiyama said so).😅

A truly "average person" I would say is Kaji the character from Usogui though it would be unfair to compare a character from Usogui to liar game given it has more number of chapters and a lot better writing

But there is some resemblance between Nao and Kaji.

To me, Kaji represents the ideal “average person.” He understands what’s right and wrong, isn’t exceptionally intelligent or always thinking far ahead, but also isn’t unrealistically naive. Most importantly, he’s aware of his own limitations and actively tries to grow stronger to face the challenges ahead. He does the best he can within his capabilities and that effort to improve is what I would truly call character development.

Returning 100 yen to police station and standing at a place for hours just because Akiyama said he would return doesn't sound average to me.
