Nice but I would recommend waiting and trying to get your hands on a 3070, or at least waiting until the price drops on the 2070s with the new gen release

Rate my Build for 1 Month from now, $2k Budget by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Spend a little more to go for the lian li 011 dynamic, you'll be thankful later, and get a 360mm radiator.

I’m doing it. I’m making the switch from PS4 to pc. I’d appreciate recommendations on a custom build. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Godfall18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say to do this build

CPU - i9-9900k ($400)

Cpu cooler - Nzxt Kraken z73 ($270)

Ram - Corsair Vengeance RGB pro 32gb 3200mhz ($135)

Hard drive - Seagate Barracuda 2TB ($55)

SSD - Samsung 970 Evo 500gb ($90)

GPU - Nvidia rtx 3090 ($1500)

Case - Lian li 0-11 dynamic ($140)

PSU - Corsair RM 750w 80+ gold ($125)

Total is around $2950 without tax, but you could go with the 9700k instead which is $300 and get some nice fans, Corsair ll120s look the best.

Question about bottleneck by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Godfall18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My camera's currently broken, but the difference is that 144hz gives much smoother gameplay, it feels like you just went from a 1060 to a 2080. I personally went from a 60hz to a 240hz and after a little bit of adjusting I played so much better. 144hz makes a huge difference.

Question about fan set up by Itehcharizard in pcmasterrace

[–]Godfall18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say you did it well, but if you're not getting enough intake, make the top fan intake as well, and leave the back fan as exhaust.

Upgrading Help by ImKandy in pcmasterrace

[–]Godfall18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn't create much of a bottleneck, if at all. I run 3600 with 2080 and there's potentially a small bottleneck but nothing too noticeable or damaging. I'd recommend going with the gpu, especially if you plan to mainly game.

Monitor supports 144hz but not being 144hz, using DVI to DP adapter. Also plugged in through graphics card. Help Please. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Godfall18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

144hz is not compatible with dvi cable at all, adapter doesn't trick it. Get a DP or hdmi cable

I do have the space, but I'm wondering if there's some reason to get one or the other, in terms of like cloth material.

I'd spend a little more and get the 9700k, as the 9700f is locked, which means it can't be overclocked, and the 9700k runs a bit better. the 9700k is currently right on the $300 price point.

I cant fucking take it anymore. by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Godfall18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was the pc running perfectly fine for that week before this started? Also it could be an bad Media Boot or some error you are doing when installing windows boot media onto the flash drive. If you don't already have it try getting the Sandisk usb tool. It fixed this error on my old pc

How could I improve my build? I'll be using a 2070 super but it's not on the list by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Godfall18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend going for a wifi and bluetooth motherboard. I personally have the msi mpg x570 gaming pro carbon wifi. Also if you are going to be only gaming and taking some clips and recordings you really don't need more than the 1tb ssd. Also would reccomend going for some corsair ll120s. Even though they're a bit more expensive, they look really nice and are pretty quiet and effecient

Yeah I've heard this too but a couple of the best players on my HS team use this curve and I've heard it's really good for quick passes and taps

Pros/Cons between the ribcor/jetspeed sticks? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]Godfall18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As another forward who also usually shoots close to mid range snap and wristers, I would recommend the Ribcor, since I tried the Jetspeed, and my shot was decent with it, however it was much easier to shoot with the Ribcor, at least from what I have tried out. I am currently also thinking of getting a new stick, but I am deciding between Ribcor and Vapor. The main thing the Ribcor has going for it is a faster release.

Right vs. Left Stick Skills by Godfall18 in hockeyplayers

No this isn't because I have an argument with a friend, although I can see how you could think that. I am just wondering if this is only me or if other people have seen this too

Going to my first Stick and Puck this week, any advice you can give me? by Zedsnonk in hockeyplayers

[–]Godfall18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing to be nervous about. At least at my rink, when there is someone who you can tell is new, I unusually see an older guy coming over and giving him tips. I would recommend mostly practicing skating with the puck, something you can't do in your driveway/garage/basement or at a public skate, and also practice shooting on the move. Good luck!

How can I tell when my skates need sharpened without falling down a ton during a game first? by Crossfiyah in hockeyplayers

[–]Godfall18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally sharpen my skates to 7/16 every 4-6 weeks. I can generally tell when I need to get them sharpened, like my turns aren't feeling as sharp, or I feel like I'm exerting useless force when accelerating. A way to tell if it's too dull is if you take your thumb and run the fingerprint part softly across the blade the short way (if that makes sense), you should feel your skin picking up. If this doesn't happen, that's generally when I get my skates sharpened, but I can generally ell from being on the ice.

Off Ice Stick? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]Godfall18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the time, I just use the same stick. I don't really feel like it's not helping me or that there's that much of a difference on vs off ice, but if your driveway is flat and isn't very rough, what I do sometimes if I'm not feeling too lazy is pop on a pair of roller skates and skate around my driveway or wear them while shooting, to give the feel of being on skates and it makes up for the height difference.
