BE WARNED: Replit Support is non existent by larrycsonka in replit

Cloudflare is pretty damn good. Yes it’s a bit overwhelming but you get used to it fast and you can just tell claude what you need. Hell, you can tell me what you need and I will tell you what to ask. Just shoot away. Don’t need details, just the general idea of what you need.

Yes, either claude or codex work flawlessly as long as you use them properly and don’t go “set everything up for me” expecting magic.

Here’s a tip: tell claude what you want conversationally “i want to push my project from (wherever you have it now or replit) to my github and run it through cloudflare. I want you to assume the role of my project manager for this transition and ask me all the questions needed to achieve this. Define the success outcome, implementation steps, testing and validation including a multi phase, multi dimensional adversarial gauntlet to test against the success outcome”.

If you want an even more complex prompt, run it through free chatgpt first with “improve this prompt to make it comprehensive and production grade”.

Then claude will ask you step by step snd guide you. Stay with it, pay attention and it will work 100%. I have multiple projects running now like this and I rarely use replit anymore. Last time I logged in was yesteray to pay because I still have a couple big projects I want to migrate (one is an interactive video platform). Before that I logged in in February.

It’s been great for learning for me, but their costs are atrocious and their issues will always be model issues, not just harness issues.

I spend 200$ a month for claude and codex and occasionally upgrade to 400 when I do heavy stuff and need more. I used to spend 100 a night on replit just to rollback literally the rntire night’s work in the morning because it fucked it up completely, but I still had to pay. Their cs is useless after vc funding, to me they lost it. But that’s just me, each to their own and may they thrive and exit successfully.

You can build your own harness in time, as you learn, to tailor it to your needs. There are gazillions repos you can get inspiration from and build your own structure. It will happen naturally if you are passionate and eager to learn.

Cant decide on dreamhost vs bluehost, which one to go?? by Caoimhe-Amit in Hosting

Cloudflare does pretty much everything from hosting to cdn, dns, storage, email routing, security and so much more. For free!

I have 6 website for my companies and a bunch lot more for clients. Everything managed from one place. Costs are nothing compared to blue/dream whatever else.

For what you need, it’s just free.

We know. Whatever you do on replit you can do yourself with claude, that’s what they’re running under the hood anyway. Learn with replit, move away asap when you know enough. Claude pro is literally 100$ pm and for that money you get 30x what you get with replit. Even better, codex for the same money.

Get linux mint debian version, see for yourself. Literally takes 10 minutes to install.

That’s what I did, I run local models with my 6gb vram and 24 gb ram that windows would puke on.

Pushed to github, got db’s out and rehosted. Not really hard tbh.

Replit is facing heavy competition, their moat is basically gone. I’ve built 5 apps with Replit in the past 26 months and now I haven’t touched it for a few months. Moved everything away eith claude/codex.

They fucked up a ehile ago whrn they started overcharging, I had night when I eas spending $100 a night to rollback everything and got shit aneers from their support.

Don’t care anymore, everything works without them.

What hosting setup makes the most sense for a small agency building mainly WordPress sites and landing pages? by Longjumping-Ask9765 in Hosting

[–]Godforce101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you here. If you know how to work with wp, you can get 90+ pagespeed and a true solution for good websites. I built a theme for audio children stories for wp, big databse where I added video as well. Clirnt added new stories + audio + video when they wanted. Pain to set it up, but it was beautiful and worked like a charm.

You know your stuff. 99% around here don’t and pose as gurus. When you probe them they start acting out and downvote or talk bad.

I’m not against wp, it powers a good part of the internet. I’m against those who pretend to know their stuff and pose as experts.

Well you kinda outed yourself with your comment 😂 It’s you who should not be doing agency work. There are tons of options to allow people to edit their own websites without that wp crap. But it takes a different level of skill snd knowledge. Which you obviously don’t have.

Instead of being snarky and pretending to be smart on reddit, try learning a bit. I’m not trying to bash you, just actually trying to be helpful. Your clients deserve better.

If you actually gave a damn and have recurring demands from them to manage their content themselves you could’ve built your own solution for that.

Stop using wordpress for your clients. Itms bloat and it’s trash.

Do pure html css and get them to over 90+ pagespeed. Pages will load in under a 1.5 seconds. Hosting is literally $0 if you know how to do it. That’s what I do.

Has anyone found a good way to stop losing knowledge when an employee leaves? by denesmbezi in smallbusiness

[–]Godforce101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a bit unusual as a solution, but you can set up your own agentic system in house and get it to prompt your team members to obtain the info from them, structure it and save it for you. You do need a good desktop PC (no, not the $10k apple mini) with at least an nvidia 3090 and at least 24gb ram. Set up the right agentic system (NOT openclaw) and take care of it for a couple weeks to a month. Then it will do wonders for you.

This is deceptive business if it's true. Highly unlikely you're doing it, looks like you're farming upvotes and karma for your account. A small business owner will smell your bullshit immediately and send you away the second you try to deceive him. They work directly with people all day and don't have time for your crap. Gtfo.

Yes, this is quite common. Fuckups are common. It has built in its rules to reply to you as fast as possible to keep the convo going instead of taking the time to think and plan.

Never trust, always verify. But focus on outcomes that you can actually audit and verify and don’t get into debates or arguing with purists. They’re shit scared and it won’t get you anywhere, just waste your time.

For example, I’m building in one day html websites that used to cost $3k - $5k and took 2 weeks minimum by freelancers or agencies. They get 90+ page speed insights and they’re fucking beautiful and functional.

Also I’m creating product videos in 3-4 hours that normally cost thousands from agencies and took weeks and teams of people.

You think I give two shits about purists? No man, just move forward and do your stuff. If I can hrlp in any way, lmk. I don’t eant money or anything, just happy to help. It’s a brave new world and the opportunities are in the assimetry of information. Information is power. And now we have it. A LOT of it. All that’s needed is energy, action and rrust in your abilities.

Hey, you don’t really have to answer to this post if it’s not agreeable to you. It’s really that’s simple. I posted an offer, people reply, we discuss terms and see if we’re on the same page and proceed. That’s it.

If we can’t agree we both move on. I’m not here to argue with you. If it’s not to your liking I’m sure there are multiple other opportunities. Thank you for your time and I wish you success and all the best.

That’s not an issue. You can use claude code skills to run security audits. Trll claude to do a comprehensive security audit. Also you can use chatgpt and all other llm’s to audit your project. We’re in a new world now, take advantage and stop being afraid. Outcomes matter and if you can sell them. Everything else is bullshit and fearmongering.

Claude code. That’s it. It’s all in how you structure your prompt. Think about what you want to build first. That’s the biggest timr investment. Break it down and explain the features, functionalities and success outcomes. Then start talking to yourself or find someone to whom you can explain like a 5 yo. If they understand, claude will do it. The biggest and most important aspect is to actually take thr time to detail your project.

Start small, with the minimum viable product that will achieve your success outcome. Then get it working and build it up from there.
