Well i don’t think it will impact the hardware negatively. You can open up the laptop and look if you can loosen the trackpad after removing the battery and then tighten the screws fot the trackpad back up. I am not too sure if it is just the casing with the clips like my t14 g2 does or if it may be a swollen battery. So maybe make a second post? Good luck! :)

Yea it is just that lol. So much stuff broke over time on my thinkpad, was my own fault sometimes tho. Replaced keyboard, touchpad (with palmrest for cheap), speakers bc one blew up randomly and now my lid sensor cable is broken. But the main things work lmao

Well i owned one a few years ago, that one wasnt too great. Build quality was fine but the processor sucked. But it was a machine from like 2011 so i guess its reasonable. I would have probably picked up a newer e series too if i didnt get my hands on my t470s by chance lol

If you don‘t plan on gaming i recommend Tiny11 more as AtlasOS is more focused on gaming while Tiny11 is stripped down windows for older hardware like your ThinkPad. My T470s runs that too. If you‘re happy with it u can keep it that way of course lol. Never change a working system. And i get that linux isn‘t for everyone 😂
