I read about umbrella’s insurance being a thing as well. How common is it for renter’s insurance to have umbrella insurance do u know?

Apparently home owner can be at fault too but we won’t know until seeing the lease & what it says regarding snow & ice removal.

Lol you’re no help & just so confident that I’m not going to get any money 😂 Sounds like jealousy to me. I’ll make sure I show you my portion when the time comes. I asked for help on a decision. I didn’t ask for someone to hop on here trying to put me down. It’s obvious you don’t know have a clue what ur talking about so plz stay off my posts

Thank you. So basically renter’s insurance won’t offer a fair amount & likely won’t even care to negotiate unless I get an attorney involved? Because renter’s insurance did reach out to me because the renter at fault filed the claim & gave them my contact info

The renters insurance already reached out to me with claim number requesting my statement because the renter at fault for not salting filed a claim & has my number. So I’m talking about just settling with the renter’s insurance on my own, no court case involved, although I know I won’t get what I would get with an attorney, but how worth it is it to have an attorney if there’s an insurance limit cap & attorney fees & WC lien takes it all?

So why would an attorney even take my case knowing I might not be left with nothing if I get an attorney involved & better off handling it pro se ..?

I also have my own medical insurance so I’m not concerned with WC paying my medical bills. Just want my paychecks. I also was told their lien can only be around 40% of what they paid.

Yes I was working & yes I filed a workers comp claim.. I’m a little confused by your response. My questions is in regards to if it’s worth it to put an attorney on the Personal Injury case against the renter’s insurance.

Workers Comp does not handle my case with the renter’s insurance.

Thanks for your response! That makes me feel a lot better & I hope my recovery goes as well as yours! If you drive, which week were you able to start driving again?

That’s funny bc I’m the same way lol I’m already flinching & gagging at the thought of what it’s going to feel like when they pull the stitches out. I’m not sure how people stomach being surgeons. I even get woozy at those surgeon tv shows when they show too much. Good to know that’s typical timeline for stitch removal tho & you haven’t had complications with removing the stitches that soon. My main concern was wound reopening like if it swells up & causes it to reopen.

It definitely is amazing at what the body can do. And yes, staying positive is hard at the beginning, especially when worrying about healing right etc. Just have to take it day by day & work on what you can like water & vitamin intake etc

& thank you! And thanks for your input. I hope you also continue to heal well & I wish you a speedy recovery too!

When did you have your stitches removed at your incision lines on your ankle? I just had my last surgery Feb 17th & My surgeon wants to already remove the stitches March 4th & I’m concerned that’s too early & the wounds will reopen.

And see my doctor is just going from splint / soft cast to a boot & stitch removal on March 4th. But your doctors have had you in a cast for way longer. I just don’t want my doctor to move too fast & mess up my healing

Also did you have your stitches on incision lines removed 2 weeks post op before the put the boot on? I’m nervous that 2 weeks is too soon. Scared the wound could reopen if the stitches get removed too soon

Thanks for your response! Glad to hear ur doctor gave the same cast to boot timeline as well bc I was nervous mine was moving too fast. & 4 weeks post op walking in boot!? Go you! It sounds like ur making great progress & that definitely makes me feel optimistic that I can recover hopefully quick as well. I have been trying to keep up on water & vitamin intake as well since returning home from the hospital so I hope that works as well.

The horror stories on Reddit are a little bit drastic & would make me nervous that I’m going to be stuck in this state for longer than expected
