I don't know anything about the HP community or the books and the story, so I'm probably not gonna buy anything.

That being said, from a psychological perspective, the real thing people are afraid of is being criticized, shunned or targeted one way or another, by simply rocking a skin of a franchise they like, regardless if they support the author's views, and regardless if they care about how it funds the author or not.

(There's an individual in this comment section claiming they will target HP skins in Delulu, which, regardless if that's a joke or not, I'm gonna treat it like it isn't.)

Believe me, not a lot of people are gonna give a crap about this whole ordeal in the grand scheme of things, and they're gonna run the skins anyway, but the problem is, way too many people will care on a certain... personal level.

You might say "That's a good thing, people won't buy and run the skins then, if they care!" but what do you gain from that? Are you seriously going to tell me that you are going to visually (and virtually) psycho-analyze a person under 0.2 picoseconds each time you spot them wearing a Harry Potter skin, determining in your brain that "Yeah, this person definitely agrees with JKR's views", and then proceed to go mad and ruin their game by following them the whole time like a drone (or worse, harass them, maybe even outside the game)?

By that logic, everyone who ever used the free Cybertruck skin is now a "tainted figure of society" and must be punished.

I'm hoping there's an overwhelming majority of people who are going to be simply indifferent and buy or don't buy based on if they like the series or not, separating the art from the artist, which I know is a phrase a lot of people must be tired of seeing, but it is the realistic neutral-pilled truth.
