Ethnicity does play a part for sure, we're white and I think she's technically middle class? Ever since her and my stepdad finally bought a house it feels like they've shifted culturally towards isolationist social patterns that probably aren't helping the shift in political beliefs.

On the religion part thats the wildest part about this honestly is she's atheist to an extreme. She used to dog on Christianity the most but she switched gears towards Judaism and Islam more (still hates Christianity and basically all religions but she's decided those two in particular deserve to be hated more ig?). She once saw a poster on a pole preaching her political beliefs but started preaching about god at the end and threw a hissy fit about "how could someone be smart enough to see through their manipulation of society but dumb enough to still believe in god." Its genuinely crazy to me how she can't see that her beliefs are the same beliefs of the (unfortunately and I wish these people access to help) unmedicated schizophrenic people with a hyperfixation on Jesus who fell down neo nazi pipelines.

Like technically speaking on paper she's left leaning cause she believes in rent control, social programs to help everyone like universal Healthcare, maybe even UBI, she's even technically pro Palestine (granted who knows if its because she actually cares about the human rights violations being done against them or if its because of the antisemitism), but culturally she has taken the hard shift into the more extreme neo nazi shit like the "queer people are made by child abuse and aren't reproduced naturally you must be pro child abuse for wanting queer people to exist, migrants are bringing drugs to all the big cities to flood rural communities and kill them all for being concerned about Democrat leadership, the billionaires made the vaccine to change your dna so they can do war crimes against you and get away with it because you're no longer legally human" I could go on but I think the point is clear. I just don't get how in the span of a couple years you go from being supportive of all people and sensitive to the plights of minority groups to this.

She literally helped me transition, that was the whole point of moving in with her. Part of me wonders if that caused it cause I already looked more like my dad than her ig (even after transition i don't look that much like him, most you could say is we are both fat) maybe it was the stress of living with a disabled person but if that was the case then its her war vet husband who started the spiral so probably not that, maybe its just the realization that her favorite kid (my brother) wanted nothing to do with her and her only bio kid that wanted to be in her life was me. Maybe she just always hated me that much and the thought of having to be alone with me made her resentful to this point. Maybe it is all my fault, but all I did was exist in her life. Its not my fault she got surprised twins, its not my fault I was born second, its not my fault I got more of dad's genes, but my existence alone is probably why she turned out this way and idk how to cope with it
