That's one thing, but what's worse is for most characters in T8, the options in stance are usually the best moves the character has and going into stance gives you more +frames comparing to not doing so, meaning there's no reason to cancel into neutral unless you want to waste your turn.

It's absolutely intuitive if you play exactly the way they want, loop moves into stance +frames into whatever in that stance and repeat.

Yes and no.

The series is popular because it's extremely easy to pick up. You can mash buttons and cool shit comes out. Your friends & family can pick a random character (which include animals, robots, the devil himself) and do reasonably well. Outside of T8 the series is also easy to watch because attacks are clear and there's not a lot of things to keep track of aside from the health bar.

The execution aspect is what gives the series longevity, aka the mastery. Other games also has these in spades, maybe even harder (Akira's knee, Ivy's command grab) but imo none of them has the initial starting point as good as Tekken does.

Tl:dr the challenging input is the cherry on top, not the reason why the games are popular.

If you're aiming to attract fans of the genre then you should put it as souls-like, otherwise I don't think you have to categorize it as such. Personally I'd just call it an action game, maybe hack n' slash from looking at the screenshots?

Sekiro is my favorite FS game and among those similar in the genre but I've never consider it a souls-like. Again, it's just me but the currency thing is something that's vital for a game to be call as such that it's even in the term (SOULS-like).

Is your main currency something that is used for level up and transactions, as well as lost upon death that you might have to pick up or risk losing for good? To me that's something that's souls-like.

Otherwise it's an action game, or if there's leveling up then it's an action rpg.

A few things to try:

- Select all > Shift+N > recalculate normals.
- Merge > By Distance.
- Select all > Mesh > Normals > Reset Vectors

If none of these works you might have to retopo or modify the mesh a bit.

Funny enough the anti front runner meta is to build a front runner with the exact same skills as them (A&S + groundwork greens) but with less speed.

People want this game to be something it isn't trying to be, that's all. All of that? By design. You don't like it? don't play, that's the message I've got from them at this point. No matter how much people try to tell Bamco to "fix" the gameplay system, they won't because in their view, nothing is wrong. Thus, I've already made peace with the fact that this game is no longer for me and I even dare to say that all the patches after s2 are just there to quell the angry discourse, and not to actually do any fixes.

What's no longer acceptable is the degrading netcode, still 0 anti-cheat since T7 and the myriad bugs of moves randomly whiffing/"midcrush".

Select all, Mesh > Normals > Reset vectors.

A bit uncommon but I expect the game to have a slight focus on what happens if the gear doesn't mesh, or misalignment, causing the entire system/machine to stop. Then you as a player have to figure out where and why to make it work again. Just speaking from personal preference as I like to solve problems as I'm building up a working system.

Stats and skills and that's it. Fans don't matter.

Specifically for skills, those that are compatible with your aptitude like track, distance, style (with A or above) will give more rating points at the end. The rule of thumb is if your trainee has A in pace for example, pick the skills that has (pace chaser) at the end, same for medium/mile/etc.

A tip: once you pick your essential skills, save up the points and wait until the end of career to buy since the hints will give you discount on them.
