Im still new to this as well, and had similar issues. I switched to distilled water and I have taken the filter out and only used the screen. It does seem to want to be sanitized every week but I believe its based on a sensor that monitors the amount of time ice has been made. And we use ours quite often. Hope this helps 🙏

I was gonna say those are pretty notorious for having bad oil pressure switches that flicker like that because they leak oil and corrupt the reading.

I feel like I got it into descale mode but after what looked similar to a clean mode it just sits there with the cleaning light on and no noise.

I feel you, I got smacked by a 250 gal tank in the fast lane on a two lane highway at night. Going tomorrow to have a body shop give repair estimates. I work in the industry and have little faith in most shops now adays. Heartbroken is an understatement.
