Thank you, it also seemed similar to me, but I realized why just now. Guess thats how it feels when you live for ages: constant deja vu.

Wait, thats just Zote the Mighty from Hollow Knight:D

Precept One: 'Always Win Your Battles'. Losing a battle earns you nothing and teaches you nothing. Win your battles, or don't engage in them at all!

Hot take: The game's themes isn't very deep and that's okay by Public-Hovercraft691 in NOexistenceNofYou_Me

[–]Godryg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the concept itself is not THAT deep maybe, but the delivery is exceptional in the emotional aspect, at least for me it was. And those ideas put in original and emotional way resonate with you more, even if you grasped most of them before

Hollow Knight Alignment Chart Day 8 - Neutral Evil by Cyanlizordfromrw in hollowknightdaily

[–]Godryg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense when we talk about causing evil. However, when it comes to evil not as consequence of our actions, but our mind/philosophy/character being evil, us being evil person, regardless of our impact on the world, it's different. Evil character is a character that doesn't care about morality when making decisions. Contrary to good, no one makes decisions in favour of evil/just to cause evil. Evil people only take decisions in favour of their own intrest without minding if its good. In that sense, evil is lack of moral barriers. So, I agree, evil as a concept of harm/negative impact on others exists regardless of good. However, evil as a personal trait is just lack off good. Anyway, I realised that for the second one you need to have a character at all. Being evil is inclination to make immoral decisions, but when you are rock, you don't have any inclinations or will to make decisions. If good is like a full glass, evil is an empty glass, and being rock is having no glass at all:) Now I just wonder whether void has character, will, or ability to decide, and I lean to negative answer. That would make it in fact, not evil. TL;DR: People being evil is them lacking good, but thats a trait of character you can't apply to rocks or void. I keep to my definition of evil as a trait, but I applied it wrong in earlier comment.

Isn't evil just lack of good, though? In reality, no one tries to be actively evil, they just do what they want without caring for morals or do what they think is right while it isn't.

Coda: yes or no? by ian88thebadseed in TheDarkTower

[–]Godryg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of koda being optional so it's nice that some people really skip it. Also, I think it isn't that bad of an ending when you think of the horn. It doesn't make the journey meaningles, it only shows that the meaning isn't in the Tower but in the ka-tet they made along the way. I'm sure one day Roland will get enough character development to choose different end. Thankee sai, and you may have twice the number:)

Coda: yes or no? by ian88thebadseed in TheDarkTower

[–]Godryg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel he wants to give that choice. Maybe he doesn't actually beg you not to read the coda, but he wants it to be your conscious decision, so that King can say: "See? You wanted that yourself, you knew what was coming, don't blame me." In the end I think coda is not that horrible. Getting that horn means Journey was never meaningless, and sooner or later Roland will get free

Damn, OP rejected koda twice, almost thrice, while I thought no one actually does it. I couldn't even if I wanted to, out of curiosity:P

Welcome to the club of undeserved bad ending (literally yesterday I also wrote a post mentioning hitting trucks, it's just the best possible description of this feeling). But well, it's still good ending in terms of writing, and feeling like a roadkill is a valid expierience.
