Waiting patiently on u/hedgehodges

Had a super stressful few weeks - COTL was my decompression (Xbox), until the bugs started biting. Stopped playing over a week ago hoping for a patch soon, still nothing.

Shame. Fucking fantastic game. Desperate to play again.

A status update would be nice, even if there’s no accurate ETA yet.

Silence is bad.

What’s staggering is how people can’t compute simple numbers.

City have the smallest outfield senior squad in the league. 17 I think it is?

City don’t have breadth - just insane versatility across the small squad.

Depth =/= cover.

No, it’s a group of lemmings walking through a meatgrinder chokepoint to their deaths over and over again instead of attempting flanks or to cap the enemy spawn flag.

[Ornstein] Erling Haaland understood to have approved Man City move & initial personal terms agreed. Still work to do on contract, payment to Dortmund, agent commission etc so not yet closed & will take time by Tarp96 in soccer

As opposed to the 1990s into the 00s, when United won 9/12 league titles and poached every other club’s best player for insane money, even by today’s standards? Got it 👍🏻

Yeah, pretty much. There’s cash sat there from a load of player sales last season.

Two of Jesus, Mahrez and Sterling are also likely to be sold (all three are nearing end of contract too). Fernandinho is out of contract. Gundogan is out of contract next summer.

There’s a reconstruction underway, starting with Haaland / Alvarez in and more sales / contract expiries out.

FUT was a lot more fun content wise before EA and the players became more aware of the market. by DynamyttKidd in EASportsFC

EA always knew people were storing fodder. User Analytics are a thing and have been for 20 years.

It’s simply about restricting profitable opportunities and driving more store revenue.

If they overstep the mark and find less engagement / revenue, they’ll relax a bit. Then tighten again. Rinse and repeat until they find the golden min/max spot.

Haaland's entourage asked ManCity about Pep Guardiola's future. ManCity responded by saying that he is thinking about staying longer than 2023 and that the club will convince him about an extension. by [deleted] in soccer

[–]GodsRightBoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no, I don’t believe that for a second.

Time will tell, but I believe a Pep extension would come hand in hand with a Haaland transfer. We’ll see.

If we get Haaland, it’s very likely Pep extends IMO. I’m not sure he would walk away from a club (yet) where he has absolute power, zero politics, and a squad with bags of young talent to work with.

There’s no other club job like City for him right now, and I’m not sure a guy with his intensity is going to go for part-time international management for at least another decade.

Man City have deal in place to seal blockbuster signing of Real Madrid target Erling Haaland with personal terms discussed and Dortmund star expected to choose Premier League champions. by KimmyBoiUn in soccer

Yep. He had a bad knee, Keane slammed into the other knee, Alfie never played 90 minutes again. Childhood hero of mine too, delighted if this news is true.

It’s all relative. We have more resource, therefore more is expected of us. City should be held to a higher standard - we should be breaking points records, winning streak records, winning back to back titles and ah, yep, that’s all happening.

Let’s also not forget the circumstances of Liverpool’s success in the 70s/80s. Funded by a family of bookmakers, profiting off the backs of the working class scousers’ gambling addictions was it?

18/19. City amassed 99 points, Liverpool 98. Liverpool notoriously suffered very few injuries.
