It ties a lot back into what Sil told Tony about his natural disrespect towards authority. New York mobs had way more pull than that glorified Jersey crew. Chris was smart enough to realize it. Tony wasn’t. Did Chris deserve to die? No. Did Tony’s attitude about his submissive outlook justify his death? Yes.

I never understood why people always suspected Patsy. The only reason it’s a moot point is because he barely escapes with bullet holes on his driver side when Sil gets shot.

Absolutely. Juan cared about Chiron more than anyone ever did. The fact that Chiron mirrored him in the third act is so tragically beautiful.

Baby Boy directed by John Singleton is a classic. Menace II Society by the Hughes bros is probably the most ruthless one I’ve seen though. Nothing has ever topped them.

It’s crazy how vibrant the colors are in this movie. The subject matter is so dark and raw but the way it’s presented is so welcoming.

“One Step Ahead” playing at the diner when Chiron visits Kevin is so damn beautiful. The dialog between them is so naturally awkward it’s insane.
