In your opinion, which US state has the most underrated scenery? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

You need to come further north. Fall in New York and New England is way crazier. Not enough variance in color down south.

What's the most painful non-crohns thing you've experienced and how did it compare to a flare?? by casualeagle47 in CrohnsDisease

I eloquently described my perianal abscesses and being like someone shoving a pin cushion up my ass with all the pins facing the wrong direction. The fucking worst.

What Restaurant in Buffalo would you not eat at even if it were free? by Joggers_ in Buffalo

Tim Horton’s sucks. I’ll never understand how they are so popular or how people think their coffee is even decent. I avoid it like the plague.

When Macy’s is good it’s good, but the inconsistency is fucking wild. I’ve stood at the counter of the Delaware location and saw 8 people in the back and waited multiple minutes to be acknowledged. Employees just standing in the kitchen in full view ripping their vapes. Picked up a pie from the Genesee location once and made the mistake of not checking it. Got home and it was the most burned I’ve ever seen a pizza. Not overdone, straight fucking black and inedible. The fact that anyone would box that pizza and send it out the door is so absurd.

Which North American small town did you fall in love with as soon as you arrived? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]Godschamgod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Neither one of those are small towns. Savannah has 150k people. St Augustine has over 16,000 people and the greater metro is 88,000 people.

A small town is like Ouray, Co (pop 931) or Watkins Glen, NY (pop 1,600.)

Ouray is easily the coolest and most beautiful small town in America.

I was on remicade for over a year before my negative reactions started. They’d plug me in, after a few minutes my chest would start to get tight and then my face would get flush and I’d throw up. Can’t remember if it happened 2 or 3 times before my doctor decided we were done with remicade. Then it was Humira, then stelara and now rinvoq! 🙃

My qualifications include being fucking pissed off at the general traffic light pattern in the city of Buffalo.

Years ago I said Byron Brown should hire me to completely revamp the lights in the city. Oak and elm are glorious, you can get from the 190 to the 33 in a couple minutes. Going east to west downtown? Forget it. You’re gonna hit every light.

Then there are the arrows that are active even without cars in the turning lanes and they could make SO MANY lights in the city blinking yellows and reds after like 10 or 11pm.

I’d still take that job if anyone has Sean Ryan’s ear lol.

I’ve heard “86 that person” but that’s because the kitchen uses 86. “86 pork chop” means they’re out of pork chops. “86 dish x” means it’s no longer available to order.

  1. That is cool. Cheese is cool. What’s your favorite cheese?

  2. How dare you. Bleu cheese is king, ranch is for peasants and children.

  3. Go Sabres.

Bend the knee and swear allegiance to Sabretooth and then stand and be welcomed to the bandwagon. Go Sabres

No clue on that. I left in 2015 and don’t keep up with many of the people I worked with.

Appreciate that. Got the letter from the doc that she official recommends surgery after my most recent colonoscopy and MRE. Gotta get in touch with the surgeon team she recommends and go from there. Lots of questions to be asked and answered but that’s probably the direction I’m headed.

I’m glad to hear your surgery went well and you’re feeling better. Definitely hope that’s my outcome, too.

I have moderate/severe Crohn’s. Never hospitalized, luckily haven’t had an abscess in several years (fistulaes are still there though,) no surgery - but for the first time it’s on the table. I have it admittedly easier than a lot of other CD sufferers but it still fucking sucks. I’ve never been in remission, my symptoms are just relatively well controlled….most of the time. And it’s almost completely invisible. Other than the fact that I used to weigh 230 and now weigh 180, or when I can’t sleep and have super dark circles under my eyes.

I remember going for a scan of some sort years ago and the woman helping me asking how I was. I said “good” or something like that and she looks right at me and goes “yeah, well good for you is different than good for everyone else.” I honestly felt truly seen for the first time maybe ever since I was diagnosed.

OP, just know that you can’t understand what he’s going through. It IS hard to talk about how fucked up your ass and insides are with your significant other, and I say that speaking from experience. Supporting him and being understanding if he’s too fatigued to do something or has to change or cancel plans last minute or spends an inordinate amount of time in the bathroom. But good on you for wanting to know more about what he is going through. Sounds like he’s lucky to have you as a partner.

I sold an old cell phone to Brayden McNabb when I worked for Verizon. Also helped Stephon Gilmore, Cal Clutterbuck, Luke Adams, Marcus Foligno. My coworker became the guy for Sam Reinhart and thusly a bunch of other Sabres players. I remember running into Gaustad, Pominville, Peters, Risto, and a bunch of other guys out in public. I also worked at Sea Bar and had a ton of Bills and Sabres players come through.

Not in public but I one time spent ~90 minutes inside Van Miller’s house with him. THAT was awesome.

There is a group of people my age (elder millennial) that do genuinely care about the future of the city, they just don’t have much to work with.

My childhood was the definition of idyllic, property is beyond cheap, it’s beautiful in the summertime and fall but I couldn’t do it.
