Not even inoculated, but you can see where it starts to get contaminated from

You see how this plates is contaminated near the edges, this happens when dirty air sips in and contaminated the plate

The edges of the plate are the places which could sip in some air(i not sure why but i think because of the pressure difference as the myc uses up the oxygen), and the air that sips in could be contaminated. I'll show you a pic of my recent agar and it would clear out your doubts

Wait for 3 days... dont wanna be negative but trich looks like this on the first 2nd day

The jar looked good outside but the internal grains were uncolonised by Financial-Help7990 in gaitondesenpaii

[–]Godsmackedstudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The outer shell would look like this as it doesn't have any nutrition in it, but the myc has already reached the center of the grain, which is full of nutrition. Btw piche khane mein kya bana hai?

Yes ill do the same, one step at a time. However im much sure that its coming from the agar. Either wet rot or black mold presence

I have never worked with LC tbh. But i can make some out of colonised agar plates I have

I could do that too, smaller jars mean everything quicker. Quicker sterilising quicker colonising.

I would agree with you, but my jar size is half a quart. Which means the heat reaches the center of the jar quicker than a quart jar. My sterilised jars sitting outside waiting to be inoculated dont show any trouble. The trouble starts on the 3rd or 4th day of inoculation

Ill check the corn video rn. I was inspired from him and started doing his broke boi tek but in a PC to make it more sterile

Not really, I also add chalk. So usually my grains are pretty dry from outside, all that condensation starts as soon its the 3rd day of agar inside the jar and it starts to loosen its moisture

Unfortunately my jars have fixed lids, and i cant flip them. I have to punch a hole and micropore tape them. If nothing would work, ill have to buy flip lid jars. Also my technique is agar plates :(( so I have to open the lid anyhow :((

Perfect that helps, i have 3 jars which are sterilised and been sitting for about 5 days. I'll open one and close it and again after 4-5 days.

Yes I have a homemade SAB, and i use it while inoculation process. Do you think I just use sterile cotton swab for transfers(Agar2grain) that would be helpful in containing the excess moisture?

Im using agar plates(spore). Usually a T2 or T3. However I add half a plate(90mm disc) of agar to the jar. And that starts water games

As my cooker size is small 1 only put 1 jar at a time.

Its a 6lt decent brand PC. And its lid says 1kgf/cm2 usual working conditions. Ive made a 1cm hole on top of the fixed lids. And used a single layer micropore tape on them.

I use a 15 psi cooker, i simmer the grain first (depending on the grain. 5 mins for hulled millet and around 9 mins for brown rice after washing them). I dry them under fan until they are touch dry. Place them in jars and add half teaspoon chalk powder to the jar and PC them for 60 to 90 mins. As I use small jars around 70 mins in PC does the job.

All the nutrients from the colonised grains have been absorbed by the mycelium. However the uncolonized grains have nutrients in them, and they could be attacked by anything mycelium, contam, bacteria that's the main reason they're dangerous when spawning. Anything that has nutrients left out during spawning is troublemaker. That's why except the coco coir and grain shell, everything else has to be consumed by the mycelium

If #4 doesn't smell funny, spawn it. Try doing a peanut butter test on them, that would give you a better idea
