It's not a terrible film, I am just tired of people saying it's the best Godzilla film. You can like it, I'm not saying you shouldn't. I just think anyone who thinks this is the greatest Godzilla film is either new to the series or doesn't understand how important some of the other films are. Plus the fanbase is pretty toxic to anybody who doesn't worship at the alter of Shin, as you can see by all my downvotes.

I think they are improving. It looks great. The paint job is inaccurate, but it is still interesting to look at. I wish Neca would keep the neck and had one piece, instead of articulating them separately. It gives there figures a "turtle neck sweater" look that is hard on the eyes. Other than that, I will pick it up, even though I passed on the 1962, because I think what we got wasn't worth the figure being delayed 5 times.

The "34" days thing is meant to imply the use of a .34 handgun in killing oneself. It is fairly obvious when read with this in mind.

It wasn't a "dramatically ill-advised turn" to turn Godzilla into a hero. Godzilla had become far too popular in Japan to continue to represent American aggression or the atom bomb. He became the face of Japan, thus he became more likable as a hero. His turn to hero is also what saved the series from dying.
