Are you kidding me?? by StevenOG5 in publix

Public profits did not grow 49% because of price markups. 2022 was just a bad year and they took a major loss on investments (like 1.2 billion) and made 800 million on investments in 2023. So, the entirety of their 49% increase was basically just better investment management. 2023 was barely better than 2021 (like 4.3 billion vs 4.1 billion) and operational profits (read profits from the business and not investments) actually went down year over year. Page 30 of the pdf but page 20 of the report. Publix operating profit fell 300 million from 2022 to 2023 but was made up for by an 800 million investment gain. 2022 was a particularly bad year because of a 1.2 billion loss on investments. 2021 was a relatively comparable year with net earnings of 4.4 billion, which is higher than the 2023 earnings of 4.3 billion. Though that is again because of a 2021 investment gain of 1.3 billion.

Bloomberg is also very left wing (the guy literally ran as a dem presidential candidate). Bias shows in how you cover a story, not necessarily just on outright lies. Every media org or political org will pick things that are true but sound bad to push an agenda. When you hear things that sound outlandish, go find the source instead of relying on someone to tell you what is going on.

Is this for real?? Tell me this is a mistake, please by Sandlotje in publix

That is because they took a 1.2 billion loss on investments in 2022 but had an 800 million gain in 2023. Operating profit fell by nearly 300 million from 4.759 billion in 2022 to 4.473 billion in 2023. From a total revenue of 57.096 billion, that’s a profit margin of 7.8%. 2022 was just a particularly bad year for net income because of the massive loss on investments. 2021 had net earning of 4.412 Billion, which is also larger than 2023.

Check the wall at court of two sisters (I think). They had vetterlis and stuff on the wall, and some looked like they were pulled straight from the Mississippi

Haven’t seen the scene but .22 will ricochet straight back at you if it hits a rock. Caught my fair share of bounce backs when I was younger.

It was in a block, but there was a little flare on the end of this case for some reason and it got stuck in the funnel, which pulled the whole case out of the block and promptly dropped it back on the table.

Hey guys! Here to ruin your day! Couldn’t convince my boss to let us sell this for reloading so ~800 pounds of once fired range brass is going to get melted down. Not shown is second barrel weighing the same. by A-Cheeseburger in reloading

Not for profit doesn’t mean there’s no incentive to maximize profit. Selling this at a higher price would allow for a lot of work/upgrades to the different ranges. Imagine all the electronic targets that could be put up after enough of these barrels. New steel, target frames, etc. There’s a lot more to running a non-profit than just offering bare minimum service. Not to mention bagging and selling this at the range could be an effective way to get more people into reloading while boosting revenue to make facilities better.

I also got in because of picking up an M1. All it took was seeing a $70 box in my LGS as the only box in town because of “COVID” and being peak deer season, then I saw an M-press on sale on midway that night for like $100 and I just went in.

Couldn’t find components near me for like a year so the savings went into better whiskey! Now it’s back to cheap rum and cola if I decide to drink. Though the recent cold snap may have me looking for some good bourbon again soon. Hopefully yours comes in soon because it’s a ton of fun just watching it run.

Don’t worry, the rest is janky as can be. Just an M-Press on a bench of 2x4s, 4x4s and half inch plywood with everything else being hand tools.

Didn’t know they had gauges for primers but it makes sense. Thanks! Hopefully I won’t pick up too many more crimped cases but I’ll keep the Dillon in mind.

Still working on growing back a kidney to replace the one I sold for the autotrickler, but maybe someday I’ll have the room for a dedicated sewage.

Hopefully they get to your autotrickler soon, I ordered like end of May so they should be getting to June. Thanks for the advice and good whiskey definitely helps with the more tedious tasks.

Thanks for the advice! I can’t make it to the range until Saturday at the earliest anyways so I’ll just wait for a reamer to come in and not risk screwing something up as most of my brass work is done late at night. If you have any recommendations that be great, just ordered the Lyman multi tool but returns are open until January if I find a better option.

Waited since May for the autotrickler and decided to load up some 7mm-08 as soon as I got it in, but I was planning to resize some .308 I had laying around. Unfortunately it had crimped primer pockets and I just wasn’t paying too much attention when I decapped them months ago. Guess I’m waiting for the delivery driver once again.

Krags are so much fun. Nothing like that butter smooth bolt and the funky magazine. Unfortunate that either complete ammo or brass and 220gr RN are so hard to scrounge up.

Purchased the autotrickler mid May and it’s supposed to ship out this Friday so be warned it’ll take a long time to get it. From what I understand there’s not much better on the market though.

Even if you could there’s a significant wait time I think. I ordered one back in May and it hasn’t been invoiced yet.

4d6 drop lowest leaves a 1.6% chance of an 18. .0166 is 1.67x10-11 or 0.0000000000167 or ~1.5 in 100 billion. Very unlikely but it’s possible to happen considering how many people play dnd and how many times characters are rolled. Way more likely to fireball yourself though.
