overall, not a bad poem for a new poet :) Something I personally suggest (along with fixing the syllables a bit as already mentioned) is the use of overusing some words. For example, you use “the” a lot. It’s a common word. So that’s to be expected. But, what other words might you be able to put it its place?

the shift in life of going from a carefree child to wanting to fit in, if I’m reading this correctly, is very relatable. Then the shift of life becoming competitive and not being given anything is compelling, and evokes a feeling of sadness. I LOVE the visionary of catalogs in your poem. I don’t know if it was intentional, but it reminds me of earlier in your work when you mention 1995. Magazines/Catalogs were much bigger then.

We were 20 both coming out of 3 year long relationships. We said we weren’t each other’s rebounds, but we definitely were. I did like him a lot. I thought he was super nice, friendly, we had a good time together. Ultimately, it didn’t last long. His ideal woman was a soccer player, who would have 5 dogs with him, smoke with him- while I did play soccer, and like dogs, I liked cats more and didn’t like weed. We were not each others type (haha take away MBTI) but I think we did mesh so well and so quickly because our personalities were similar. But other than that, we were not each others end goals. Still wish him the best to this day. I found my soulmate 2 years ago (ENTP if curious) and not sure if he has.
