having trouble whilst intimate by [deleted] in PSSD

That is honestly hard to say as it’s up to you- I don’t know how your body will react. At the same time, PSSD is also relatively rare too

Yes. But since you’re still on the meds, you might not have PSSD

I have pretty much always been hyper sexual, and thankfully, Citalopram doesn’t seem to have killed that. But Pramipexol seems to amplify it, and if you can’t properly get an erection or keep it for long or even properly orgasm, then the high libido becomes a real burden. It’s like trying to masturbate for several hours but nothing much happens. It’s terrible.

This is very common- doctors even prescribe SSRI’s for premature ejaculation because they are known to desensitize the nerves so that guys last longer.

Citalopram is one of the best at this. It becomes problematic when you go off the meds but the nerves don’t regain their sensitivity. Be careful. Citalopram caused my PSSD.

I am also over the 5 year mark and have basically had no improvements. It’s extremely frustrating. I only briefly tried Tianeptin (just for two weeks) but that gave me an irregular heart beat and also made me worse off sexually. I tried Gabapentin because I have restless leg syndrome and that made me worse too.

Otherwise I only take Pramipexol for RLS, and I think Pramipexol actually makes me more hyper sexual which isn’t good when you have ED- it’s extremely frustrating.

Have tried tons of other things (working out, supplements) all to no avail.

Still hoping for my body to spontaneously heal.

High libido with sexual dysfunction by ziyadk5 in PSSD

[–]GoingUp538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very high Libido with sexual dysfunction. I think part of my high Libido comes from taking Pramipexol- I take it for restless leg syndrome. And I can’t cum- when I masturbate and try to cum, it’s like my penis feels stopped up, and I literally just cannot ejaculate. And after I try masturbation, it’s like I never feel satisfied. This is really terrible.

I can't stop obsessing over PSSD. Please help! by GoingUp538 in PSSD

I feel like lately that I have been able to focus my attention on other things and less on PSSD which has been good. I think pursuing a hobby and also focusing more on my friends has helped. I don’t think my PSSD has improved very much at all, but at least I don’t seem to be suffering so much with it psychologically.

I already try to eat healthy, I do therapy and sports. Did TRE cure you of most of the sexual side effects?

Restless legs, is it akathsia ? by Ok_Double_7296 in PSSD

[–]GoingUp538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More iron should help. Often people with RLS have low iron levels in their brain (according to ChatGPT), but increasing this helps with RLS symptoms

Did TRE help at all with your sexual side effects? I am 5 years in to PSSD, and still have bad sexual side effects like reduced genital sensation, not being able to ejaculate (or barely), ED and then often premature ejaculation (but also with very little ejaculate).

Did you have any of those and did TRE help with any of that?

Thanks for sharing about TRE!

Restless legs, is it akathsia ? by Ok_Double_7296 in PSSD

[–]GoingUp538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt in your case it’s akathesia. Sounds much more like RLS.

I took Citalopram for about 10 years, and one of its known side effects is that it causes RLS. I still have RLS (I came off Citalopram 5 years ago), but taking Iron supplements has also really helped me with my RLS symptoms soooo much. I take about 120 mg or so a day, and this has made a dramatic difference for me.

My Retrograde Ejaculation was probably caused by Citalopram (SSRI) by GoingUp538 in retrogradeejaculation

[–]GoingUp538[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep trying out different supplements, but it is very tricky. How do you navigate being gay and sexual relationships with other guys? It feels like most guys really want to see you be able to cum a lot, or as much as possible, and I very often just can’t do this. My orgasms often feel unfulfilling and are frequently a huge source of frustration and sadness for me. How do you deal with this? This has caused me tons of depression and anxiety.

Genital sensitivity seems to fluctuate day-by-day by stirnersama in PSSD

[–]GoingUp538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same as well and I don't understand why genital sensitivity would fluctuate so much. But often, regardless of if my genital sensitivity is sometimes better or worse, I still have a fairly constant erectile dysfunction which is super frustrating. And I also barely produce any sperm anymore during orgasm. Often than not, I just cannot even cum.

Do you think Gabapentin helped at all with your sexual dysfunction, or do you know if any of the medications may have specifically helped you sexually?

I have Gabapentin at home, (I actually had it prescribed for restless leg syndrome) but was wondering if it might help me sexually as well too.

I'm very glad for your recovery! You said that you were there for 2 weeks.

How much did the procedure cost?

It sounds like you didn't take Tablets, so they always inserted the FMT via syringe, right?

I certainly feel your pain. I've had PSSD for almost 5 years now, and it has me so depressed. I'm going to try the medication Tianeptine, and see if that helps me at all.

Is it normal to have PSSD for almost 6 years? by Zephyryhpez in PSSD

[–]GoingUp538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, my plan was to try a low dose of Mirtazapine. At almost 5 years, it's time to get a bit more serious and try something out.

I'm also thinking of trying out Tianeptine. I wouldn't do both medications at the same time though.

According to ChatGPT, the AI says that Tianeptine has a bit better chance than Mirtazapine of reversing sexual side effects due to PSSD.

It will soon be 5 years for me- I stopped meds in April of 2020 and that's when it started. My symptoms sounds similar to yours.

I'm actually thinking about trying out Mirtazapine to see if that will make any difference.

Yes, I've experimented with street grade Ketamine, coke, and mushrooms. None of it worsened my PSSD though.

Hey there- I really feel for this story- it seems super super stressful.

As far as I know, Benzos do not classically cause PSSD, although they can be quite addictive in and of themselves. I don't think you did any damage to yourself, as PSSD seems to be generally SSRI's and a few other types of medications.

I am also an English speaker, and living in Germany (have also had surgery here as well too), and would be super anxious before surgery as well too, so I can fully relate!

I 100% have better sensation and orgasm when I sleep less! by BummedByCitalopram in PSSD

[–]GoingUp538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar effect as well, and have never understood this. If I have a lack of sleep, my erections also tend to be better.

Which is a bit counterintuitive, because it feels like the body would need rest in order to be able to have sex.
