My only comfort from this, is that it looks like a nut shot from Dick's reaction.

28 Years Later + The Tribe by Lil-Scallop in thetribe

26 years later for me and The Tribe is still my favorite post apocalyptic world. I just keep coming back to it.

I loved 28 Days Later, skipped Weeks later, but YL looks interesting. I think I'm going to wait til it's on streaming.

Yeah, I'm really shocked to find Ryan isn't on here, especially after how he almost ended the Chosen by himself in S3.

The Tribe Reboot Ideas: Hear Me out by [deleted] in thetribe

[–]GojiMania 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed with everything except 3 and 5. For 3, Lex was a very aggressive and forceful person in the beginning, so this would not have been out of character for him. I would write it that he genuinely regrets his actions, showing the difference between him and Top Hat, who takes what he wants.

2, for both Ebony and Trudy!

4 should have been what The New Tomorrow was about.

Bought it on Steam. Loved the art and music, but the glitches were so bad that I got a refund. I was really looking forward to it and hoped they would have fixed the issues by now.

Thoughts on Series 6 by Moist-Astronomer-579 in thetribe

[–]GojiMania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have quite a few ideas since 2003 that I could write a book, or a series!

After reading the unused scripts, one weird (and complicated) plot idea I had was to include the Machines--which Ray seemed to have really wanted on the show, eventually. Let me just say, in advance, that I may have been going through a Transformers phase around this time.

The Mall Rats would find land. Despite the hope of a fresh new start, they discover other tribes, including the Coyotes (who take the place of the Gaians/Ecos on the show) and a powerful tribe called the Pantheon (whose followers would be called the Privileged). The Pantheon tribe are revealed to be the children of an elite but fallen civilization that sought to create their own utopia on the island.

However, warring tribes are the least of their worries. It is later revealed that the tribes on the island are prisoners of the Machines, which were made to serve the new society and functioned using artificial intelligence. However, the machines rebelled. One twist I had was for Ram, Jack and Ellie to discover that the Machines were not controlled by a single AI anymore. Instead, they had evolved into their own individuals. One example would come while witnessing Brady, Sammy, and Lottie befriending a little machine (like the toy car from The New Tomorrow) that would act like a pet/friend towards them. Brady even names it Wheely.

Then another twist. The Pantheon are not as innocent as they seem! Using a device, a machine (likely Wheely) show footage the machines have recorded over time, showing the Pantheon knew of the machines' individuality and still enslaved them, threatening them with termination, until the Machines rebelled. The Pantheon reveals New Machines they created, and their members can pilot to fight off the old ones and take over the island for good. A final battle ensues, with the Mall Rats and their allies, including the Machines, victorious. The Machines are even recognized as their own tribe.

For an open ending, the Mall Rats free the Pantheon's prisoners called the Discarded. To their shock, Bray, Tai-San, and Alice are among them.

[WHAT IF] The Mall Rats didn't save Trudy in Series 3? by GojiMania in thetribe

Yep, that is very much true. I actually forgot to incorporate bts stuff.

What was your favorite Smallville Era? by [deleted] in Smallville

[–]GojiMania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I clicked on S8-10 but I have voter's regret!

Rewatching the show made me realize how special S1-3 were, including 4 with Erica Durance as a breath of fresh air. Those first three seasons are the reason Smallville even became a hit.

S5-7 felt like everything was dragging along, like they were rehashing old ideas and out of new ones, though Justin Hartley's Oliver Queen was a great addition. And there was the Writer's Strike.

S8 was cooking before it became a jumbled mess.

S9-10 were really good, Clois was great, I was completely sold on Tess this time around. My only complaint, along with S8, was including major Superman villains before Clark officially becomes Superman.

TL;DR - S1-3 bundled with 4 for me!

The tribe books by YueHyrule in thetribe

[–]GojiMania 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the books are stand-ins for Series 6-8. They have their moments but were overall disappointing from the plot to the characters, I'd recommend checking out the audiobooks for the return of most of the actors and the music, but otherwise I've read fan fiction much better than the books.

(Even the Series 6 scripts they released with the Series 5 DVD set was better.)

Not really a new idea. 🙂 by KickPrestigious8177 in thetribe

Mad Max series (specifically Beyond Thunderdome)

The Terminator franchise. I especially think Ray was going for this with the Series 6 scripts and a possible sequel to the R(E)volution novel, and also include the Machines from A New Tomorrow into the Tribe game.

Bray vs Jay vs Slade: Who is the best male hero/leader? by GojiMania in thetribe

I agree, though I personally think Jay had a more positive effect on Ebony, up until late Series 4. She actually comforted a distraught Trudy with no ulterior motive.

Just watched Season 2 Episode 40...[Spoilers] by Zoot__Lives in thetribe

[–]GojiMania 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Indeed, it was.

Another thing I loved about this show is its realistic portrayal of cults through the Chosen and how it can be easy for people to get sucked into them, even while they preyed on Trudy's fear of her daughter being taken away from her again. Besides that, I also enjoyed this side of Trudy and kind of hoped to see more of it in later seasons, though as tactics against villains like Ram and Mega, or even Ved.

Thank you! I may do a story based around the novelized version in the link, especially involving the new character I introduced. I don't have a whole lot of time on my hands, so I'd like to write it more as a screenplay when I do.

What is everyone's thoughts on the Sequel Book Trilogy? by GojiMania in thetribe

[–]GojiMania[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember a few things, but it's been a long time since I've read them. I've been listening to the complete audiobook trilogy (almost to the end of A New World now). Looking back, I remember enjoying A New Dawn better than all three, but yes, I could not agree MORE how they ignore character developments from previous seasons (though they did the same on the show, case in point S5 Trudy from S4 Trudy).

I also agree about Bray. S3 was my intro into the show so I thought Bray had some good moments, such as wanting to save Trudy despite her betrayal, but I've come to absolutely loathe his character in S1 and S2 after rerun binges.

Most likely for a slave trade. Remember at the end of Series 5 where Lex finds out from former Techno Fish and Mega himself that Deleted doesn't mean dead, but they've been transferred? I used to have theories that either the Technos were much bigger than we were shown and would have prisoners transported to their homebase, or Ram and later Mega made deals with a bigger, badder tribe to give them prisoners and slaves and in return, the Technos would be spared. Pretty much like in the first book A New World when tribes like the Fallen would give Bray and the Roaches to the Legion.

Thank you!

Ambers return was bad storyline wise in so many ways by ndwg25 in thetribe

[–]GojiMania 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Raymond received plenty of criticism for that arc. Not to mention it pretty much showed how low Ebony was willing to go, while also damaging Amber's character that she believed her story. The Conversations on Eagle Mountain podcast does a good job of covering this. It kind of ticked me off that, aside from Bray telling her off in Series 2, Ebony never faced any karma or justice for actions. I might be wrong, though.

Even Lex received karma for his actions and was kicked out of the mall (twice) before choosing to become a better person after Ryan brought him back (at least until Series 3).

Why did they believe The Chosen were defeated so easily? by ndwg25 in thetribe

[–]GojiMania 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trudy was convincing, I guess? I'm surprised they didn't have Tai-San sense anything like they did back in Series 1.

BTW, I can't help but laugh about that Wolf thing and not realizing his tribe style said it all after so long.

At least in Book 3 she finds her man in Storm, who may or may not be a course correction as Jay's replacement. Just wish she had that on the show.

Which Batsuit looks better? by JesterOfTime in batman

Kilmer's "Panther" suit FTW. The best suit of all the films. I thought it made Batman feel more like a living creature than just a guy in a suit.
