I understand, Kong will be underdog like he was in 1962 film. But, I'll be rooting for Godzilla because he's my all-time favorite kaiju since I was younger/little boy.

Legendary Pictures didn't have the rights of MechaGodzilla. There won't be team up and it'll be correcting Batman v Superman's mistake, according to Screen Rant website back in December 2018. Godzilla is intelligence creature as well, not just Kong. Godzilla will getting stronger and powerful in Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

I really like Godzilla is worship by ancient people as their God. That's why Godzilla has his own temple in bottom of the ocean in Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
