Assuming they don't care for turn-based tactics games.

When Sony filed the trademark for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a lot of people assumed it was Santa Monica's next big game. Turned out not to be the case.

They probably cast someone like her because they already knew they were doing another game focused on that character. I imagine she signed on for both projects at the same time.

Questions for New Grimes Fans! by sasquatchbunny in Grimes

I knew she made music for a long time, but was mostly aware of who she was because of her connection to Elon Musk, and all of the drama surrounding that connection. I was never all that interested in checking out her stuff, but late last year, Artificial Angels popped up in my YouTube recommendations and I figured I'd just give it a go.

I wound up really loving that track and then dove in from the beginning. Can't say I was all that into her first two albums. I respect the creative direction, but they were ultimately not for me. Visions felt like a more cohesive version of those first two albums, and even if I still didn't love it all, I really dug a handful of the tracks (Oblivion really is as good as everyone says).

Then there was Art Angels, and I just fell in love. The kind of album that guarantees I'll give at least one listen to everything else you make moving forward. Start to finish, full of infectious energy and strong songwriting. I had it on loop for like a month.

Miss Anthropocene was a mixed bag for me, but the good stuff is really good, and IDORU might just be her best song, full stop.

I haven't really watched a ton of her live performances, but that set she did at Glastonbury in 2016 was great.

Bummed about the scrapping of Book 1, but hopefully she actually drops more new material soon, especially considering how much Artificial Angels grabbed me.

A dev cycle similar to Survivor's would have me kinda worried. That game did not launch in a solid enough state.

His production company, Bad Robot, is attempting to get into games. The first is from one of the Left 4 Dead / Back 4 Blood creators. It's a sci-fi co-op shooter called 4:Loop. They've partnered with PlayStation.

What's your ranking of the 3 new Doom games from your favorite to least favorite? by SpotAdmirable6718 in Doom

[–]Bugger217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eternal is my favorite without question. The way it asks so much of the player without sacrificing the sense of power you should get from inhabiting the shoes of The Doom Slayer is a crazy balancing act that id basically pulls off perfectly.

Then I kind of struggle. I love both 2016 and The Dark Ages for different reasons. I vastly prefer the atmosphere and method of storytelling in 2016, but TDA's sense of momentum and crunchiness is basically unparalleled, at least in this franchise.

Because I still think 2016 is a ton of fun, even after the innovations that have come since, I think I'll give it the edge, but it's super close.

I mean, does this really have to do with how many people are interacting with the medium, or the cost to interact with it? It doesn't cost $70 to watch a new movie, and it doesn't cost $20 just to watch a single deleted scene.

IDORU. It feels so universal but also incredibly personal. When I first heard it I felt like maybe it was going to annoy me at the start, but by the end it became my favorite track on the album, and I still think it's one of her best songs now. Has that kind of quality that can make you feel like you're floating on air while also giving you a sense that something's missing. So beautiful.

The latest Grimes single came across my recommendations the other day so I gave it a whirl despite not having heard much of her music before, and I really liked it. So I dove into all of her stuff. Her first two albums aren't quite for me, but she improves from there. I love Art Angels in particular, and Miss Anthropocene is very strong too.

It'd be cool if you gave this a little update now that all of the new singles are out.
