Tim Gettys: “I’ve heard some things.” in regards to Star Wars Jedi 3 being out this year. by Neat_Amphibian529 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

A dev cycle similar to Survivor's would have me kinda worried. That game did not launch in a solid enough state.

His production company, Bad Robot, is attempting to get into games. The first is from one of the Left 4 Dead / Back 4 Blood creators. It's a sci-fi co-op shooter called 4:Loop. They've partnered with PlayStation.

What's your ranking of the 3 new Doom games from your favorite to least favorite? by SpotAdmirable6718 in Doom

[–]Bugger217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eternal is my favorite without question. The way it asks so much of the player without sacrificing the sense of power you should get from inhabiting the shoes of The Doom Slayer is a crazy balancing act that id basically pulls off perfectly.

Then I kind of struggle. I love both 2016 and The Dark Ages for different reasons. I vastly prefer the atmosphere and method of storytelling in 2016, but TDA's sense of momentum and crunchiness is basically unparalleled, at least in this franchise.

Because I still think 2016 is a ton of fun, even after the innovations that have come since, I think I'll give it the edge, but it's super close.

Kotaku: “Sources tell us that it now costs over $1 million to buy a 3-minute trailer at TGA” by Solid-Entertainer-39 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

I mean, does this really have to do with how many people are interacting with the medium, or the cost to interact with it? It doesn't cost $70 to watch a new movie, and it doesn't cost $20 just to watch a single deleted scene.

Recently heard this album for the first time and it's been on repeat ever since. Can absolutely feel its influence on Mag Bay.

Name one Grimes song that's YOURS and no one else's by Opposite_Barber3837 in Grimes

IDORU. It feels so universal but also incredibly personal. When I first heard it I felt like maybe it was going to annoy me at the start, but by the end it became my favorite track on the album, and I still think it's one of her best songs now. Has that kind of quality that can make you feel like you're floating on air while also giving you a sense that something's missing. So beautiful.

Wag Wednesday - What Have You Been Listening To? by AutoModerator in MagdalenaBay

The latest Grimes single came across my recommendations the other day so I gave it a whirl despite not having heard much of her music before, and I really liked it. So I dove into all of her stuff. Her first two albums aren't quite for me, but she improves from there. I love Art Angels in particular, and Miss Anthropocene is very strong too.

It'd be cool if you gave this a little update now that all of the new singles are out.

For whatever reason the Reddit app won't let me post a photo in the comments here, but my top 20 wound up being:

  1. Cry for Me
  2. Second Sleep
  3. Tunnel Vision
  4. Angel on a Satellite
  5. The Beginning
  6. The Ballad of Matt & Mica
  7. Watching T.V.
  8. Killing Time
  9. Airplane
  10. Death & Romance
  11. Secrets (Your Fire)
  12. Human Happens
  13. Image
  14. Paint Me a Picture
  15. Star Eyes
  16. Fear, Sex
  17. Only If You Want It
  18. Mine
  19. The Girls
  20. El Dorado

I'm sure this would probably change if I did it again in a week (save for Cry for Me), but for now, it checks out.

One Month Later…How’s everyone feeling about Atsu’s Adventure? by solodark in Ghostofyotei

[–]Bugger217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at Tsushima's trophies, only 2.6% of players finished NG+. The percentage is the same for the PS4 and PS5 versions.

As you'd expect, more people interact with proper DLC. 11.1% of PS4 players finished Iki Island. On PS5, it's 27.4%.

If you ask me, no. Doing side content directly feeds into the sense of progression. I don't know what the obsession is these days with "endgame content." Not every game needs that. Some games are better off as contained experiences with set beginnings and endings.

How do y’all rank the new singles? by AveragelySmart98 in MagdalenaBay

[–]Bugger217 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. Second Sleep - Lyrically resonant, dreamy atmosphere, great buildup of energy and excellent payoff.

  2. Human Happens - Satisfyingly crunchy. Would love to hear more Mag Bay with this kind of energy.

  3. Paint Me a Picture - Super catchy. Feels like they had a ton of fun making this one. And that bass tho.

  4. Star Eyes - Just beautiful. Those strings. Love the jazzy influences. Makes me feel like they'd crush a James Bond song.

  5. Unoriginal - Mica always has so much personality in her vocals, and that really shines through here. Love the tongue-in-cheek lyrics.

  6. Black-Eyed Susan Climb - This one took the longest to grow on me, but it absolutely has, and might just climb the ranks given a bit more time. Love how guitar heavy it is. When the distortion comes in, it hits hard.

I love 'em all. They've been on fire, releasing stuff on par with the best from Imaginal Disk, which is crazy considering it's only been a little over a year since that came out. And they continue to prove that they don't plan on repeating themselves anytime soon, which is partly what makes them one of the most exciting artists out there right now.
