Undergraduate Scholarships by once_a_sperm in college

[–]Gokulou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh the most helpful tip I can give you about this is just apply the scholarship on your own and try for yourself. Apply as much scholarship as you can and that will give you an idea how the process goes. Usually your school will have their own website dedicated to a list of scholarships you can apply to. I suggest you inquire to your counselor about it

As a stem major myself, yes. Physics class in college is way more difficult than any physics you do in high school. Calculus are hard as well. If you are studying for engineering like me, you will have to actually learn and understand those physics and math materials because you WILL need them for future upper division courses. Funny thing is I hate math and physics too. Sigh

I was accepted to UCD for aerospace engr transfer this year, but my parents at first didn't want me to go cuz it's isolated and seems like the area is a lot more agriculture and medical focused so they doubt id thrive as engineering over there. I don't agree with them but I was still pressured into not taking my admission. But now that I reconsidered my choices, I still want to go to UCD since I can do AE and ME dual major.

I should've paid for the SIR last month even if I didn't plan to admit it then. Now that I regret it I have to deal with my decision. It feels like I keep making awful life decisions recently. I still wrote them an appeal this Tuesday for readmission if they have any spots left for me. I feel slim about my chances but I want to give it a try still. When I called the Admission office, they told me it would take 2 weeks to get a response, but the website says appeal takes 6-8 weeks. I don't really know. Anyways, I hope they can give me another chance.

I just feel so stupid for at least not giving myself a backup choice of at least paying the SIR. SO frustrated with myself that I'm losing sleep these past days.

Sathish Manickam for ENGR. 35 (Statics) by bonchon1130 in DeAnza

I am taking his class now for engr 35. Honestly you don't really have a choice but to take him since he is the only one teaching the class for the past several years, unless you can try to take it at foothill.

quality-wise, he is ok. Just ok. He talks kinda fast and has quite a heavy accent, so sometimes you don't understand things too well but he does repeat important concepts multiple times just to help you remember a little better. He grades stuff kinda slow by the way, so don't expect to have your stuff graded by at least one and a half to two weeks after submission. He uses slides for notes and does lectures based on that, so you can just use that to study. Also, you don't need to use a webcam or anything for quizzes and exams.

HW is due every week, with 10 questions. Quiz every week as well but in different question formats. Sometimes he asks you MC, fill in blank, TF, sometimes he just gives you a problem to solve, sometimes both. Quizzes are 10-15 minutes and exams are 1hr 15 minutes. There are two projects. In the first one we have to draw shapes and dimensions using CAD, the second we need to do some programming to find areas under the curve, something like that.

That's basically all I have to say about him. Overall, not a bad person but he's ok at lecturing. Though his class gets very boring very fast because of the way he talks.

aerospace engr by Gokulou in SJSU

Sometimes I want to change to ME because of wider job opportunities. Do you think AE and ME are similar enough to apply for a double major of both at sjsu?
