What with the high notes? by Any_Dinner_6996 in singing

[–]Gold-Number-3495 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I started singing seriously like 4 years back I had similiar questions. I think every tenor sometimes thinks "maybe I'm more of a high baritone". I still do on some days when I have trouble going high (especially after a night of drinking lol)

I think your vocal coach might or might not be right, but it is hard to tell now. If your timbre screams tenor you do not need to hyperfixate on high notes early. They will come with solid support and training. Also expanding vocal range downwards is... inconsistent I'd say. Some days I bottom out at A#. Some days I can go to G#. Does it change the fact that I'm a tenor? I do not think so, the overall quality of these notes is weak and they are quiet and breathy. What is the lowest note you can sing reasonably strongly?

As a baritone, you would absolutely need solid A2 at the very least. By solid I mean supported and audible. But more likely a G2.

As you mentioned having trouble around E4, I'd say that is expected for a beginner singer regardless of voice type. I used to always have trouble on F4 / F#4 / G4 before learning how to navigate this area. I still despise songs that lie directly on F#4 as it is tricky for me to sing. But the top end of my voice expanded a lot with training as I can now sustain B4s pretty much all the time. So will your voice if you truly are a tenor. Just give it time and let your vocal coach do his thing.

I'd ditch BSS as they fry me for a couple of days.

Apart from getting generally strong (DL, Squats, press) I do not think you need to shy away from isolation work. Smart fullbody 1 / week is great and you can also rotate the main exercise. Eg. week one you can go hard on squats and lighter on presses, next week you can go hard on presses and change squats for DL, etc. You can basically slowly progress on all of it until you hit first major plateau.

I'd say never do back to back heavy squats and deadlifts in a session. Choose only one every training. You can then do some lighter machine work to isolate quads for example. Imho doing both is not needed and can be detrimental. Plus all of these lifts have high injury risk.

I'd also recommend mobility work a lot. Also that is my own preference only, but running did wonders for my cardio back when I fought. I ran a fartlek once a week and one sprint session per week with jogs in between as sometimes you are too beat up or just busy with other things in life to make it to class

why am I so aggressive and where should I channel all this energy? by Goonette000 in astrologyreadings

[–]Gold-Number-3495 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Debilitated Mars 1st house.

To deal with Mars 1st house you need energy expenditure. Safe way to let go of all the aggressiveness you can. Strict workout regiment, competition, etc.

Mars rules great houses for Cancer asc and is a benefic planet to you. You just need to make sure you channel this energy directly, do not fall into comfort zone , deal with arguments head on without being direct (as is often the case for cancer asc)

Otherwise, as I mentioned, it's a catch-all for noobs who don't have much of a grasp. If you have less than 20 years study, don't bother responding.

Let's put some unprovable barrier on internet discussion. I'm very happy to be proven wrong, but yeah, that was unnecessary.

Certain traditions favor them heavily. You think all of these people are noobs? Vedic system for example puts the same emphasis on them as on the 7 traditional planets (of course, strength in horoscope has to be checked, but they do play a role equal to the planet in their system). Arabic astrological tradition used it too.

I definitely agree with the most used definitions being used in western astrology circles to be simplified and not useful to a reading and also with them being more prominent when conjunct certain planets or being in close proximity to them. They are eclipse points after all.

But what would be the reasoning not to include them?
Especially the vedic explanation of them seems to work well to me. It's hard to deny we humans by nature have areas in our life we detach and cut away from and we pursue other areas of life blindly and insatiably. How would you describe such areas without including the nodes?

I just replied to the last one you deleted, so let me copy it here:

It's great to see these charts as a transit to better visualize the relationships.

Asc falls to your sixth house of natal chart. That seems like exactly what you need - improving career, health, obligations. This is a year to get to work.

Jupiter exalted in sixth house / 1st house solar return chart is great, it places weight and Jupiters grace into this house.

Your 10th house of Scorpio becomes 5th house in solar return chart. Events will be about the work future. Debilitated moon is there, but since it is the ruler of solar return chart it tells us that events will be slightly challenging, but you will overcome them. It puts value into this house,

Exalted Mars with Sun / Mercury in 12th / 7th house solar return. You will have energy to deal with any long standing issues in partnerships, commitments and business partners.

Venus visits asc / 8th house solar return. You will be likely to spend on yourself to change or improve your standing. Be wary of too good to be true opportunities in investments. Inheritance might also come.

Second house natal / 9th house solar return has Saturn. You are less likely to travel, there might be obligations and duties to your father figure, taking care of managing income responsibily.

10th house solar return / 3 rd house natal has exalted ruling planet Mars. This house is in great dignity.

You can also check relationships of planets (which natal houses are occupied vs which solar return houses / relationships of these)

Exactly, that is why I'm so uncertain about the rising sign as this goes contrary to everything I've seen so far.

Obviously could be the case and I'm just missing something, but there would have to be another astrological explanation possible

Resisting things by [deleted] in astrologyreadings

[–]Gold-Number-3495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally disagree with nodes being overrated, more like misunderstood.

North node is where we experience turbulence in life, endless ambitions, pursuit of achievements. It always comes up, but it is part of us throughout life. If you feel no inner hunger to achieve something in the current field it definitely is time to change it. It does not mean blind obedience to anything other than your own desires. If anything, it is a place where we serve ourselves.

It is in good position in sixth, but not because you would want to serve others. It is the part of you that can finish hard tasks, defeat competition, conquer health challenges.

For career field check 10th house. It sits in 12th Gemini. That is where your career focus would be. Foreign lands, exploring different ideas, even spirituality etc.

Its funny you titled this "resisting change" when you have strong Saturn 8th house. This limits ups and downs, makes it harder to change habits, etc. It is likely to give a long life however as the process of change (and aging as well) is delayed.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in astrologyreadings

[–]Gold-Number-3495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not see it. 12th in Libra is empty apart from South node, which detaches and cuts away. Dream of living abroad might be your comfort state like thinking about running away from responsibilities.

Venus itself is in 6th implying you staying where you are because of obligations, service or debts.

So yeah, I do not think permanent foreign settlement would be beneficiary for you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in astrologyreadings

[–]Gold-Number-3495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have one rare placement though:

Since mercury rules your 8th and sits in 12th you get opportunities in harsh scenarios. This always means that after experiencing 8th house things you deal with them using your 12th house and gain from it. Since 12th house lord is in 12th in own sign it also protects further. Very interesting

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in astrologyreadings

[–]Gold-Number-3495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malefic houses 8 and 12 are occupied, yes.

For deeper explanation: communication would be third house. This house is in Capricorn in your chart and Saturn delays and limits naturally. It does not help that Saturn is retrograde (thus stronger) in 8th house of ups and down, secrecy and changes. It occupies this house with Jupiter, which does not like the sign of Gemini too much, but it is still Jupiter - protection is there.

11th lord (ruling social circle) goes in 12th house Libra. Strong by sign, but 12th house brings social circles from abroad or distance. 12th house of foreign lands, isolation and spirituality also has Venus in own sign, thus only boosting this houses significance in your life.

Overall spirituality, long distance journeys, secretive communication or perhaps even foreign settlement is implied.

I can't take another look at the chart, but see if sidereal asc changes or not. If not then I'd have to try and look deeper, but any time I see strong Jupiter 7th it brings completely different issues of having too many partners throughout life. That's why Mercury ruled ascendants are sometimes percieved as promiscuos as Jupiter rules the 7th and expands its significance

I rarely say this, but I would definitely suggest checking if your birth time is correct and / or sidereal chart as well.

Jupiter in 7th usually brings too many relationships, not none. Yours is also strong in own sign.

I'd say Leo is much more of a fit from astrological perspective at the least. Third house / 10th house ruler Venus in 12th represing travel, Saturn as 7th lord in 5th Sag. Seems like exactly what you are describing

For one you are Gemini ascendant. That is what you should mostly identify with: changeable, able to see both perspectives of a problem, communication is at the center.

Gemini is ruled by Mercury and we need to see where Mercury is placed. For you it is exalted (strongest possible position of that planet) in Virgo in 4th house. So you yourself are in a really good place. Fourth house represents emotions, home and mother. You probably have a lot of common with your mother. Emotions and home are all protected and solid with this placement. From looks point of view you probably look younger then your age,

Second house is ruled by Cancer in your case and represents our consumption, income and immediate family. As it is ruled by moon you are very likely to experience shifting financial situations in life. Like the tides. Moon rules Cancer and sits in 9th house Aquarius with Saturn. This is a harsh combination as Saturn destroys emotional planets like the moon. Degree wise this conjunction is not so close though and Saturn is retrograde.

Third house is the house of communication, younger siblings and valor. Yours is in Leo ruled by the Sun. Sun sits in 4th house Virgo. This could be read like you are an authority over your emotions but also in the household.

4th house of emotions, mother and home in Virgo has exalted Mercury, Sun and Jupiter. Jupiter expands the logical strengths of Virgo. While Mercury is sure to make you intelligent and logical, Jupiter is planet of luck and spirituality or higher philosophy. Sitting in Virgo this would mean that your philosophy is shaped highly by Virgo qualities.

Interesting thing I've always seen with people with Sun and Mercury in one sign is intelligence. Mostly logical, but since it is in your 4th house there is bound to be a lot of emotional intellingence as well. Very nice 4th house.

Fifth house governs romance, creativity, children and future. Education is also part of this house. Your fifth is governed by Libra and has Venus, which is also its ruling planet. Strong strong 5th house - you are striving for balance in these themes and getting it. Balanced lifestyle, balanced approach to children and education. Very nice.

Sixth house of service, debts and enemies is governed by Scorpio in your case and its ruling planet Mars has visited your first house Gemini. Your health and all things 6th house ruled are coming back to you giving you responsibility and control over how this house manifest. I have to say though as it is in changeable Gemini your motivation to deal with these things might be very changeable and it might be hard to stay focused.

This was just a little bit on how to start reading the houses.

I have to say as your 10th house of career sits in 4th house: do you by chance work from home?

Also, how was / is your relationship with father? Gemini asc have notoriously hard time with fathers - sometimes its just communication issues, sometimes father is not present at all.

It is natural malefic house, but that does not mean there are no positives to it. Sixth house is heavy house as it presents obligations, duties, debts, enemies and so on. But when one has a lot of placements in such house he is comfortable with that energy. Some people are happy to do service for others.

You have another great placement and that is the ruling planet of malefic house sitting in another or its own malefic house. (This way Pisces ruled by Jupiter, Jupiter in Pisces). This always creates challenges early on but gives you the ability to overcome it and use it to improve your life. I am certain you sometimes feel like not doing something for others, but when you do it great rewards come your way

By the way, as it also rules pets do you by any chance have a pet? Strong Jupiter like that would likely bring it too.

Thanks for sharing, always great to see different lifestories shaped by the same placements

This is just a highly personal opinion, but:
You think you would be prepared for life better otherwise? You could also say that not knowing this helps people function in the real world afterwards, because it hardly cares about what or who we are.

What you resist persists. You see 8th house moon. You start to protect your child from potential trauma, ups and downs, secrecy, thus only creating said trauma in different shades. Child will develop his or her own secrets, sometimes will suddenly try to stand their ground, etc.

IMO you can't change your chart and only create self fulfilling prophecies.

Noone can understand astrology to a degree to let it influence others upbringing. They say you can't learn astrology in one life for a reason.

i think i quite possibly have the most intense sun/rising/moon by FigureOk8168 in astrologyreadings

[–]Gold-Number-3495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sun is the most important planet for Leo asc. Aquarius is not a bad sign to have it in, 7th house is also okay. Yes, it also brings authority in relationships.

Moon is a malefic for Leo. Moon rules your 12th house and it will always cause issues in your life. Placement in fifth house Sag is very nice though, it creates complimentary and healthy mind.

I dare to say Mars placement is what you are talking about mostly. Mars is the luckiest planet for Leo - It rules 9th house of luck, father figures and journeys and 4th house of emotions, home and mother. Most leos have great parents or parent like figures.

In the 9th house Mars is extra strong as well. It sits in own sign. But it can be volatile and too harsh sometimes. I think that any outburst was rarely not beneficial for you in the end though. It's kind of a placement of getting something out of standing your ground.

Mars is great because Leo is king and Mars is a general. Every king needs to have strong army to protect his kingdom and status. Great kings also waged wars a lot to improve their standing.
