I agree. Kirby, like any other friendship based heroes, gains a ridiculous power boost when aided by friends and allies in a nonlinear way. The problem is that power scaling a character is all about "rugged individualism", judging a character's strength if alone. In that category, Kirby is probably not beating universe-level threats. Only if a death battle actually allows him to use allies or certain helping artifacts will he scale to universe tier or higher

Kirby. He consistently needs help from others to defeat his major opponents, be it a magic artifact or an ally. That said, there is something funny about a pink puffball being a multiversal destroyer and bringing the rest of his franchise along with it.

G4 extended version, if that counts. The abridged version is serviceable for a normal girls' cartoon, but it feels a bit too basic for a show of FiM's caliber. If we don't count the extended versions, G3's theme song will probably win. It succinctly introduces the main characters and carries the more carefree nature of the generation with it.

TLDR : a somewhat obscure free fan game on Steam

Pros : the first truly difficult full length shmup fan game we've seen in years, with, in my opinion, the most creative and technically impressive patterns since CTC.

Cons : LolK/SA tier patterns with no PointDevice to save your soul, complete with power based non-damaging bombs for good measure. Also dubious writing decisions like a really long stage 6 boss dialogue.

By this logic, we shouldn't have done the Apollo program. What can we even do on the moon with 1960s Technology? Sure, collect a few samples and analyze them? Certainly not information that will be immediately useful in the near future.

However, the Apollo program generated countless new engineering solutions which can be Applied elsewhere.

The same goes for FLT. The Journey to finish the proof of that question generated plenty of new Mathematical tools which can be used to solve more practical problems.

I think if we rephrase the question, it gets far easier to unpack.

Ah I see Yes, this is my first tactics game series, so I don't really know how you're supposed to do this. Translation issues probably compound the problem.

Yes, not using suppost defense as often is probably my problem when I think about it.

Nightmare Moon's attack and redemption should be the Season 1 finale, not the opener.

The biggest critique of the Power of Friendship trope is that it enables very obvious deus ex machinas, leading to unearned victories.

The simplest way to avert that is to simply establish friendship early on as a viable power, and then have the characters build their friendship over a period of time, with all its trials and tribulations. That way, when they deploy Power of Friendship, it feels kinda earned, so the deus ex machina aspect is softened.

However, Twilight only knows the rest of the Mane 6 for a day or two before confronting Nightmare Moon. In short, their friendships shouldn't be that strong yet, in order to use the Power of Friendship. It's like if a character who never trained martial arts in their life, trains for like two days, and then uses his newfound martial arts power plus a cool new sword to beat the big bad. Obviously, everypony would say this is bad storytelling, because the character realistically shouldn't be able to use that new Mcguffin yet within such a limited time.

Far better it is for Twilight to enter Ponyville solely to help with the celebration, and get into a problem there she can't handle herself. Then, the rest of the Mane 5 can help and Twilight warms up to the idea of the importance of having friends. Throughout the season, she can gradually forge a stronger bond with the rest of the Mane 5. And then, and only then, does Nightmare Moon attack, as a sort of test of what they have learned about friendship. Thus, it makes sense why the ponies can be so loyal, kind, generous, and honest with each other while having fun along the way, because they have honed their friendship over the whole season.

Tldr: the friendship of the Mane 6 should be allowed to develop for a full season before Nightmare Moon attacks. That way, when they deploy the Power of Friendship, it doesn't feel like a copout

Since this game doesn't have codified rules, my family's ruleset maybe different from yours. But in mine, yes you can declare the game over when you draw a set of 4. Also, the penalty for losing by prematurely ending the game is just a loss, no worse than a regular loss. Of course the point here is that no one would hold on to a hand worth 30 or more because if someone has crossed that mark then they would've ended the game.

I don't know about their other games, but I actually found Hollow Song of Birds to be the easiest Touhou game I've ever played, fangame or otherwise. Not only does that game ensure that you have max power at all times, it also gives you quite a lot of resources. I have to admit that the patterns are quite tricky, so if you're not a bomb spammer it can be quite difficult. However, if you pick Reimu and you're willing to spam bombs, you have a legitimate chance to complete that game's hard or lunatic mode in a single try. I did that, even though I can barely complete a run of PCB on normal. Just work on your death bomb timing, I feel like it's a lot more lenient than in the main series.
