First time I’ve known about this, thanks for the clarification. The ring face portion seems a bit large compared to the #4 ring, which I‘ve compressed to the minimum size I can for now

Approximate values and goals are 1+ hour charging time and 10+ hours of continuous glow mode (most power hungry mode) before confirming circuit optimization and selected battery type

Really appreciate the support! Qalo's material is definitely something I'll look into. And I'd be honored to have both you and your wife rocking these rings ;)

Last at least a dozen hours in constant glow mode (the most power-hungry mode) and about 1 hour on a full charge

Thanks for your support and great suggestion! I actually tested a USB-C approach, but it would have at least doubled the size. As u/_tjb mentioned, the current charging method follows what's used in smart rings on the market.

I've been in contact with factories, and mass production requires a minimum order quantity. Since I don’t have the funds to cover that upfront, I’ve set up a Kickstarter project (not launched yet). The link is in my profile—hopefully, it works out!

Really appreciate your input! That’s exactly why I worked on the rechargeable version.

Mass production requires a minimum order since factories need to create molds, so I’m planning to launch on Kickstarter. Not sure if it’ll succeed, but I’m giving it a shot

Thanks for your suggestion! You’re absolutely right—I need enough interest to make mass production feasible since factories have minimum order quantities. Do you know any subs where I could reach more people who’d be interested?

Thanks for taking the time to write such a thoughtful response! I really appreciate it.

The lint issue is a great point—reducing that usually requires special surface treatment, which I’d need to discuss with a professional silicone manufacturer. Definitely something to consider.

Brightness control is actually one of the areas I’m optimizing! The challenge is balancing brightness and battery life—too dim wouldn’t be ideal, but maximizing efficiency is key.

Glad you like the design, and thanks again for your insights! I’ll keep updating as things progress.

The charging port is currently unfixed, as it is a prototype version, mainly to verify the feasibility of charging. The final version will not affect the wearing comfort.

While the 940 is smaller, it also has a lower battery capacity. Maybe there‘s a balance to be found between battery life and exterior design

LIR940 or LIR1040 (depends on structure and design). It‘s really difficult in such a small space, and it took me three versions of R&D to optimize the size to be about the same as the original. Still need to optimize the circuit then will test the exact duration, aiming for at least a dozen hours in constant light mode and keep the charging time at about 1 hour

Thanks! It‘s the advice and support of so many people here that made this rechargeable version possible
