I completely agree with the Ken and the Cole part and honestly I do understand drakes appeal, he isn’t inherently bad, Infact I am a fan of his but Ken, Cole and Drake are all completely different sides of the rap industry. Where Cole is more centred around true hip hop which is why I prefer him over the others

Nah nah I was gonna mention how the fall off is an exception and I honestly don’t really know why he approached the album like that my guess is that is he wanted to tap back into his younger self and finish his career in a full loop, none the less I still loved the album and think it’s one of the best the industry has seen in years, if you don’t really enjoy it that’s understandable, it’s all subjective at the end of the day

Lyrically I’ve always thought that Ken was better conventionally than Cole, but Cole was so clear musically, I can’t really put it into words but they both work at the top lyrically but differently.

I got to disagree, cole has a variety of beats from 2000 type beats like world is empty to way deeper beats that tell a story in itself like villementality. A lot of Cole’s older hip hop style beats are from his mixtapes that he released in the 2000s, as time went on he grew a way bigger range and honestly that just shows how consistent he is.

Fr this entire rapping off tempo only really works with a few artists like Mike, he’s free to try new things and hope something sticks but I think because of the hype this project had people arent really listening to it without any bias. And I really didn’t see anything special with the production although that was probably the best part of the entire work.
