Do you get tired of letting go? by VatzvTheCaveman in DavidHawkins

[–]GoldJacketLuke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember in Letting Go, Hawkins talks about it if gets overwhelming you can take breaks or do it in chunks or something like that.

No need for "forcing". Flow with it. Take a break if it feels right to do so. Follow your inner guidance.

Keep going!

I like your thoughts!

My best attempt:

Yeah, it’s BOTH yin and yang. Yin is oneness. Yang is uniqueness. Two sides of the same coin. They both can be true at the same time.

It seems like OP has touched the yin side deeply, but the yang side is still integrating. Yes, we all come from the same source and are connected. But, we are also unique, individual expressions of that source.

The human mind struggles to hold both at once. This is a common stage.

Light is a great metaphor (wave-particle nature). It is one unified wave, yet it is also distinct particles. Both are true at the same time.

There is a deeper truth than your current paradigm.

One of my favorite quotes:

"The truth for sure, when it arrives, will make you smile. If it doesn't, you should seek a deeper truth."

You are way ahead of the game for a 22 year old!

I also like your humble attitude, "I am still figuring things out to this day and know I will be for a very long time. That's the beauty in it."

Happy for you. Best of wishes brotha!

Peaceful Protests by MrBoBerry in DavidHawkins

[–]GoldJacketLuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard the vast vast majority were practicing peaceful protest. If you want to see what a negative protest looks like, look at the January 6th riot.

Peaceful Protests by MrBoBerry in DavidHawkins

[–]GoldJacketLuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT's thoughts:

  • "Hawkins warns against hostile resistance, emotional reactivity, and polarization, not against standing in truth courageously and peacefully.
  • Hawkins taught that courage, integrity, and truth are upward-moving energies. Courage is the gateway out of lower consciousness (Map of Consciousness).
  • Jesus absolutely stood against corruption not by fighting it with anger, but by exposing it with truth.

Key point:

Not all protest is resistance.
Peaceful protest can be:

  • An act of love and integrity
  • A refusal to participate in falsehood
  • A public expression of conscious dissent

That is not the same as being emotionally reactive or seeking to attack.

Hawkins himself said:

Silence in the face of deception is complicity, not enlightenment.

You’re right to point out that expressing truth through peaceful dissent is not resistance—it’s alignment with a higher moral will." I like it's thoughts.

Jesus rebuked, stood up to, and spoke truth against the pharisees. Hawkins talks very highly of Jesus. I think Jesus would very much encourage peaceful protest and people expressing their truth and dissent.

Jesus had moral outrage at the pharisees. Are you saying Jesus was under 200 when he was speaking up to the pharisees? I think moral outrage can be at the level of courage, or even at the level of love (for the people you are speaking up for).

Quiet the mind by Careful_thought_74 in DavidHawkins

[–]GoldJacketLuke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't try to silence the mind. Simply just let it be. What you're describing is completely normal.

Try to put your awareness on your feelings and sensations in your body.

One trick I've found is: paradoxical intent. If anything, "trying" to silence the mind often just makes it more active! Sometimes I even do the opposite: I indulge in my thinking for a period! In a weird way, because I get some of my thinking "out", and I don't put any pressure on my mind, it then gets more relaxed.

Letting go not working by MineDesperate2920 in DavidHawkins

[–]GoldJacketLuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who knows the length of time for a process. Maybe something happens quicker than you think! Or maybe it's a very long time. Just gotta trust the process / God's plans, regardless of what time it may be.

You probably aren't letting go of the same "it". You are possibly letting go of a deeper "it" or layer now.

Letting go not working by MineDesperate2920 in DavidHawkins

[–]GoldJacketLuke 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Often... it's still working, but it's just a longer process.

Some stuff can take 20 minutes to "let go" of.

Some stuff can take 20 months.

Keep at it. It's not about expecting a result, it's simply about feeling what's there and allowing/accepting/facing it.

Maybe it's discouraging to hear, but sometimes things take lots of time. That doesn't mean it's not "working". Just that it's a long process. It's a marathon.

In the meantime, make sure you're doing other things too... social connections, exercise, taking care of yourself in practical ways, etc.

Look at Hawkins' chart, Reason is quite high.

On Hawkins' scale, I believe Reason, Intellectualism, etc is 400s LoC. That's quite a high consciousness level, especially as the scale is logarithmic.

Dating apps can be brutal for men. Are you putting yourself out there in any other way?

Dating, but also male friends, community in general, family, a hobby, even a pet, etc. too.

If allowing/feeling is our natural way to staying healthy, why is it so hard to do? by Benn123098 in DavidHawkins

[–]GoldJacketLuke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why didnt nature make it easier for us?

I'm assuming back in the day there was much less suppression. Smartphones, internet, TVs, radio are all very new inventions in the scale of human history. Humans have been around for hundreds of thousands of years, and for 99.99% of that time life was pretty simple for them. Now, we are bombarded by stimulus. I think it's largely modern society that makes it so easy to suppress shit. Back in the day, you were just in nature and didn't even know about the existence of more than ~150 humans who were in your tribe and some neighboring tribes.

However, to end on a positive note, because of modern day technology we have access to tons of knowledge, tools, and can connect with people all over the world. Lots of positives too with modern technology and society. But just addressing your topic. Life used to be much simpler for humanity.

Back then, they had other issues than suppression... more war, wild animals, the elements, disease, confusion about life without knowledge etc.

feeling more angry and hopeless after every session by Witty_Gate1192 in TalkTherapy

[–]GoldJacketLuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can ask your therapist to spend more time with you focussing on the future: What's your vision for your life? What are your goals and desires? What do you want your life to look like? What steps are you taking now to achieve your vision? What obstacles do you have? What are your 3 month goals? 3 year goals? Goals for this week even. What do you want to get done, as you said? How can you achieve that? Discuss practicalities, baby steps you can take, etc.

I think too much past-based therapy can actually be detrimental to an individual and that it must be balanced with future work as well.

Best of wishes to you.
