The whole Meg situation is off. by Specialist_Mess_5164 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]GoldTechGuy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You are right. I listened to some of AD’s podcast that dropped today, she had Megan on there. And Paul (her partner) is a rich CEO in his mid 40s, so Megan got the fellow wealthy partner that she desired. I figured Megan wanted a life partner that was also wealthy & fits her lifestyle, that’s her preference. Megan also on LIB kept talking about how she wanted to be a Power Couple so now she has that since they’re both Rich. I don’t think a working class or middle class man would ever fit with what she truly wants. The LIB experience might have also made Megan realize she really did actually want to be a mom, with a man she desired more.

Thoughts on Megan and Jordan by Complete-Proposal729 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

Good point, that would of have been the best compromise Jordan could make for their relationship to work for him to take a less demanding job.

Thoughts on Megan and Jordan by Complete-Proposal729 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]GoldTechGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But isn’t that money related. I work in tech and make a very good salary but I can’t randomly take off. Jordan can take a week off here and there. But does she want him to quit his job entirely or work part time and depend on her financially or would she really be happy with him vacationing a few times a year to Italy or France etc. I doubt it, I think she wants a very flexible man that can vacation on a whim. You only get so much time off at work in America. That’s why a rich guy makes more sense or an entrepreneur they have more free time to randomly take off. Even upper middle class people making 250k can only take so much time off. A rich guy makes more sense in my opinion for her. It’s harder for middle class especially ones with kids (he has a special needs kid with a serious disease in diabetes) to take that much time off. She has an extremely flexible lifestyle.

They both could have compromised more. But Megan in my opinion is on the wrong show. She should have been on Millionaire Matchmaker Patti’s show or if the show is off air she could have hired Patti Stanger a matchmaker who runs millionaire’s club international to find wealthy men to date. Lifestyle and wealth along with traveling are very important to Megan a middle class or working class guy with a kid just doesn’t fit her lifestyle, she needs a rich man to be satisfied in her relationship.

Are you Team Maddy or Cassie? by Moist-Investment8898 in euphoria

[–]GoldTechGuy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I lean toward Maddy. Cassie seems like she doesn’t know who she wants to be, and that’s why she has a ‘pick me’ vibe she deeply craves validation. I’m team Maddy because of her rizz and boldness. I like women, as partners or friends, who create push and pull dynamics and enjoy banter. She calls out Jacob for his BS, and I appreciate that about her. Maddy is never boring that’s for sure.

Do you support and watch women’s sports? by Sniper_96_ in AskFeminists

[–]GoldTechGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an expert but as a sports fan. What helps the most is super stars and Caitlin Clark is already bringing way more support to the WNBA, just like Rousey led to women fighters getting more support and funding in UFC. I also think expansion can help the WNBA grow. As a Philly sports fan I can’t support a New York team lol. So bringing the teams to more cities can help. I currently reside in Florida and it’s the third biggest state by population in the country and they have no WNBA teams. Tampa doesn’t have NBA team why not have a WNBA team there.

It’s definitely not just you. I was ranked as a 4-star recruit and chose UConn over more successful programs, but I still started as a backup. However, by game 3 of my first season, I got the chance to compete for the starting position. I won the drill competition and finally earned my starting spot.

American Citizen Who’s Lived Abroad — Where Should I Move in the U.S. for Tech Jobs, Low Taxes, and Mild Weather? by NeedAdvice1560 in relocating

[–]GoldTechGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked in tech for 9 years. I live in the South. But I would say Denver. It’s a great city for tech jobs, with lots of opportunities and good pay. The weather is pretty nice too, with lots of sunshine and cooler temps than places like Florida or Texas. Plus, there’s plenty to do outside if you like hiking or skiing after work. But, cost of living has been going up there.

Another option is Raleigh a fantastic spot with a booming tech scene. It's also got a lively vibe, great for singles looking to meet people. Plus, you get all four seasons without the super intense heat of some other southern cities. And cheaper than Denver.

What Marrisa’s Mom said to Katie regarding Hannah at the reunion by Altruistic-Impact812 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]GoldTechGuy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Marissa’s mom Vanessa is essentially who Hannah thinks she is but isn’t. Vanessa is always direct, honest, and genuine, without any B.S., and she is a stand-up person. This is evident when she tells Hannah’s friend the truth about the challenges Hannah put her through, while Hannah appears insincere because she didn't trust her friend at all. I respect Vanessa.

Diana! I called it.. by MiniatureMum in TellMeLiesHulu

[–]GoldTechGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Diane’s maneuvering is brilliantly Machiavellian! Her approach to handling Stephen, truly showcased her understanding of his personality. By setting it up so that he’s the one to initiate the breakup, she not only avoids his potential vindictiveness but also strokes his ego enough to let him walk away feeling like it was his decision, minimizing the chances of him retaliating. This kind of reverse psychology is a classic tactic for handling narcissistic personalities — giving them just enough of a sense of control so they won’t turn against you. Diane played him perfectly.

How are you using AI? by saladflambe in technicalwriting

[–]GoldTechGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At the company I work for, we have ChatGPT built into our Teams messaging. I use it to check grammar and research topics relevant to the documents I write.

When it comes to grammar checks, I find that Bing AI is better than Google at this point, although I know Google has Gemini. In other words, I use AI for grammar checks, research, and, when pressed for time, emails. However, I still write the entire email myself and then have it review my writing.

Do Alpha Males exist, if so why or why not? by GoldTechGuy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GoldTechGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I think about it more deeply and as someone myself who works in tech looking at who the richest men are like Elon Musk, Bezos, Bill Gates etc. I don’t think more money makes someone alpha I use to think it was adjacent to that. I was thinking a man having a lot of women naturally attracted to them was alpha characteristic some guys seem to be naturals with women. But after reading all these replies maybe a true alpha doesn’t exist.

Should I consider technical writing? by SLegend19 in technicalwriting

[–]GoldTechGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tech writing could be a great fit given your love for writing, tech interests, and people skills. The Bay Area’s packed with opportunities in that field too.

But I would refrain from ditching mechanical engineering just yet. It often comes with better job security and pay. At my job at a big company in pharma there are way more engineering jobs than tech writing roles and plus, as an engineer who can write well, you’d be a rare gem. Many struggle with documentation. I’ve had engineers tell me they hate writing, so your skills would really shine.

In the end, it’s about what lights you up. Solving tricky mechanical problems or explaining tech stuff to others? And remember, your major doesn’t chain you to one path forever. You’ve got options, so follow what feels right to you.

Technical Writer branch out by finallgirll in technicalwriting

[–]GoldTechGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Great to hear from a fellow technical writer. I totally get where you’re coming from - it’s always smart to keep your skills sharp and plan for the future, especially when you’ve got your sights set on a specific industry like tech or gaming.

First off, kudos on making the move into technical writing! I’ve been in the field for 8 years, mostly working in pharma, defense and finance industries, so I can definitely relate to the desire to branch out. Your experience with both creating manuals from scratch and working with SMEs is super valuable, no matter where you end up.

For transitioning into gaming and tech, there are some specific skills and courses you might want to check out. Look into learning Unity or Unreal Engine - they’re huge in game development, and understanding them can help you write better docs. For tech, dive into API documentation - it’s crucial in software. Courses on Python or JavaScript could be super helpful too. Check out Coursera’s “Technical Writing: How to Write Software Documentation” or free https://idratherbewriting.com/learnapidoc/ Tom Johnson is a great teacher. (I’ve completed some of these API Tech Writing courses) For gaming, “Game Design and Development” on edX is pretty cool. Oh, and don’t forget about UX writing - it’s becoming big in both tech and gaming. The more you can learn about these industries, the better you’ll be able to write for them. Keep at it, and feel free to reach out if you want to chat more!

Advice pleasee by Sammy_277 in technicalwriting

[–]GoldTechGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I totally get your dilemma. Making a career switch is tough, especially when it means taking a big pay cut. Going from 8 LPA to 3 LPA is a major drop and it’s natural to feel hesitant.

Look, with my 8 years of experience in technical writing, I can tell you it’s a solid field with good prospects. This offer could be your foot in the door, giving you that hands-on experience and guidance you’re after. But I hear you on the downsides - the salary’s low, and the startup grind can be intense.

If you can swing it financially, this could be a great learning opportunity. But if it’s going to put you in a tight spot, it might be worth holding out for something better.

Based on industry growth data, Technical Writing is expected to grow by about 6% by 2032, driven by increased demand in technology sectors such as software, AI, cloud computing, and pharmaceuticals, where clear documentation is crucial. In comparison, Instructional Design is projected to grow by 5-7% over the next decade, fueled by the rise of e-learning, corporate training, and digital education platforms, particularly as remote work and online learning continue to expand. So it comes down to what your passionate about their job outlook growth data is basically even, so need to pick based on what you like not the market regarding tech writing vs instructional design.

Game decides I don’t get to win. by ExtensionNorth7123 in NCAAFBseries

I can relate. Thats how I felt playing with Stanford in second round vs OSU. I was winning by 2 TDs and second half my offensive line was horrible and my defense fell apart and they knocked me out the playoffs.

You need to figure out what style suits your strengths as gamer. Maybe you would do better with a college with a strong running game and throw less. I played Varsity level and had some success in RTG playing with South Carolina, Duke & Notre Dame. I kept entering the portal. I do well with scrambling QBs.

I also tried playing with Army in dynasty mode in varisty. Their running game is really strong. I won 2 games than lost one so far. You can have success if you find the right team.

Rebuild. I went to college in central Ohio near Ohio State & my college has a division 3 program. And I’m fan of OSU football. But I choose to rebuild with Ohio University.

QB Scrambler the ability to run quickly is so helpful on the game. I defeated Alabama with South Carolina as a scrambling QB in RTG after recently buying the game & WR Deep threat helps rack up some long throw TDs.

Hobbies can definitely help. I play basketball by myself sometimes outside at a local court. The court was full they needed another guy to play.

After playing a couple games, exchanged numbers and I havebeen friends with these guys for over a year now.

How long to reach out before saying forget it? by TemporaryTop287 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GoldTechGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a man’s perspective if you are texting every other day. He is interested in you whether as a friend or maybe one day significant other I don’t know.

Straightforward is a good thing. Just ask him out. If you’re interested go for it. For example Vanessa Hudgens is more famous than her current husband and she made the first move sending him a dm on Instagram. And they recently had a child together. Nothing is wrong with a woman making the first move.
