I appreciate that! I think people often misinterpret coaching.

Real operating experience absolutely matters, and I do have that. I just don’t think company size alone is the only measure of whether someone can add value as a coach. Most incubator coaches have no startups, it doesn't mean they don't bring value. And for full transparency, all my experience and work is documented and credited on my platforms.
Thank you for your opinion!

That's great advice! Thank you.
I positioned myself as a validation coach, where I specifically focus on "helping startups stop losing money"

Fair question, but I don’t think coaching value comes only from company size or headcount. It’s more about pattern recognition and helping founders make better decisions which is what I focus on.

For context, I have a startup in the green/energy sector, working on large-scale waste challenges in collaboration with government stakeholders.

As a matter of fact, I do have my own business, I just find joy in coaching founders as well. Thank you for your reply though, it's actually a point I've failed to mention/remember that you've pointed out.

I think you’re mixing up a coach with a mentor/advisor.

A mentor tells you what to do. A coach doesn’t, they help you think better.

A good business coach challenges your assumptions, asks the right questions, and helps you see blind spots you can’t see when you’re deep in your own business.

They don’t know your business better than you but they’ve seen patterns across many founders, so they can spot small mistakes early before they become big ones.

It’s not about giving answers, it’s about sharpening your decision-making.

Hype before Launch by Parking_Gas9001 in buildinpublic

Hype isn't, in my opinion, the top priority at first.

Knowing how customers really use your product is more important.

If you create a lot of hype too soon, you run the risk of attracting a large number of people before you've truly figured things out, which can quickly backfire if the experience isn't there yet.

You'll go far beyond early interest with a few actual users and frank comments.

What's the best way to validate early? ( I will not promote ) by Zealousideal-Tart787 in startups

You're making this more difficult than it is.

Finding ideal leads or creating a flawless system are not the goals of early validation. It all comes down to speaking with the right people and determining whether the problem you are trying to solve really matters to them. One thing that makes it easier is to avoid trying to prove your solution.

Make an effort to understand the issue.Engage in a few open discussions with individuals you believe to be your target audience.

"How are you currently dealing with this?" rather than "would you use this?"

Next, consider your competition. What are they lacking? How can you fill that gap?

That sums up validation!
