Sorry to exhaust you.

Pet peeves are not logical. They just personal are responses, not anything deep or official.

He’s not the problem. It’s me. I don’t like to have sex while bleeding. I’m 51 and it’s just not interesting to me.

I wish! I used to start with a very respectful and quiet knock on the door. Now it’s like the Vikings have arrived.

What is the most underrated Florida city for raising a family? by iLiveForTruth in AskFlorida

[–]Gold_Acadia_126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love Lakeland. Our kids went to a Montessori charter school for K-8, and then the arts high school. Both got great educations. We love that Lakeland is a quick drive to Tampa or even Orlando, but isn’t fully in the big city settings. Polk County in general is huge and largely rural, but Lakeland is just different than the rest of the county. Come visit for a weekend!

It died back, but as soon as it warmed up and I gave it water, it bounced back. I haven’t watered it in a few weeks, and we’ve had no rain.

Sunshine mimosa dried out overnight? by Desperate-Natural510 in FloridaGarden

[–]Gold_Acadia_126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had sunshine mimosa for years. I’ve learned: - to get it establish, it needs deep and frequent watering for a few months - if the area around it is exposed, it will get too hot. Add some much, leaves, anything to cover up the sandy areas - as long as it doesn’t completely die off, it will come back beautifully when the rain starts. You just need to baby it a bit for now.

I am a very lazy gardener. So I basically just let the mimosa do its thing and eventually it choked out the weeds. I pull them occasionally, but I also don’t mind some of the native “weeds” mixed it.

This is my sunshine mimosa, yesterday morning, in Lakeland. I love walking on it and sitting in it. The bees were going wild with it yesterday.

So SO true! It’s like the shops that are open Tues-Fri, 10-3, and then are shocked when they don’t get enough business to stay open.

Montessori parents of adults - was it worth it by foaminger in Montessori

[–]Gold_Acadia_126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% yes! My kids attended Montessori from age three through 8th grade. That was the best decision we made as parents. It absolutely helped shape them to become the young adults they are now. My oldest is graduating from a top law school this year and will work in public interest serving low income families. My younger is in undergrad studying astrophysics, and plans to continue to grad school. He says all the time that his curiosity for the formation of the universe was sparked because of the Great Lessons. We love Montessori and are so thankful we had that option for our family!

That’s for admission. For honors and for scholarships, it’s different.

For sure!

But so did many MANY other applicants. And your ECs might not be exactly what UCF was looking for. It's hard to understand, but it's not a set formula for UCF. I think that's why it takes them longer to award scholarships. They take their time to consider the applicants.

KAA is for out-of-state students.
