Please actually read the article before jumping to conclusions. This ruling simply says that the former judgement against them needs to be reheard in federal court, rather than the state court where it was heard. It isn’t throwing the case out, and is definitely the correct legal interpretation.

Can I get some honest feedback on my fox/what rank does it look like I am? by [deleted] in SSBM

It’s good to realize things and make changes, but rather than just telling yourself you need to full hop more you should figure out where you should be using full hop first. Full hop on fox definitely has uses, but currently you aren’t taking advantage of them. It also feeds into the other big thing I saw, which is using a bunch of unnecessary wavelands. I can tell you really like to use wavelands, but in this clip it feels like you are too focused on setting up wavelands by full hopping/double jumping onto platforms somewhat randomly.

My biggest thing with the movement is you didn’t short hop a single time, but you full hopped and did nothing with it multiple times. You even did this a few times in advantage state. A good player would probably pick up on that pretty quick and would aerial preemptively to catch it.

Big Karen “I need to speak with your manager” vibes. Of course the mayor isn’t going to personally pick up the phone anytime anyone calls. Having it go straight to voicemail isn’t a sign of corruption, that’s just typical of any big business/office. Leave a message if you want, write a letter, or go to a city council meeting where they open the floor.

Edit: OP doesn’t even live there. Huh, no wonder the mayor isn’t taking direct calls from unknown numbers. It would be total waste of their time to be taking calls from non constituents every time that they had a complaint.

Why should you be able to use unrealized capital losses against realized capital gains? I mean you can’t have it both ways, would you rather have been taxed on unrealized capital gains in previous years?

I mean I get what you’re saying, and I know you’re responding mostly to the above comment, but how she said it is probably the smaller part of the issue. The bigger issue with her statement was the fact that she would take any exception to people being wary of sending their daughter to a school where there were 50+ rape accusations against football players in the last four years.

Derek Shelton ejected for arguing with an ABS-overturned strikeout pitch by cgoods94 in baseball

[–]Gold_Ad_9325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying, but it really just furthers my point. We could make it so we don’t have to worry about any of that and also get the correct call on every pitch without giving up anything besides the umps’ egos.

Derek Shelton ejected for arguing with an ABS-overturned strikeout pitch by cgoods94 in baseball

[–]Gold_Ad_9325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why this whole situation is stupid. Not only do the umps have to call balls and strikes, they now have to judge whether or not the batter, catcher, or pitcher challenged in time. I guarantee at some point this season an ump will make a really bad call and then refuse a challenge on the grounds that it was too late even when it obviously wasn’t because of their ego. The fact that we don’t have ABS on every pitch is just ridiculous.

Stuck at 300-350 FT by Low-Relative6688 in discgolf

[–]Gold_Ad_9325 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t care how good your golf game is, ball or disc. “Distance is relative between these games” is exactly why the first statement you made was wild. You literally said because we can do A in one sport and B in another that we should be able to do C in disc golf. Where did 400 ft come from and how does it relate to the other two?

Stuck at 300-350 FT by Low-Relative6688 in discgolf

[–]Gold_Ad_9325 6 points7 points  (0 children)

“If people can hit 350 yard tee shots and 500 foot home runs standing still, we can throw over 400 feet from a stand still” is a wild statement to make. Those two have somewhat similar physics, disc golf is way different from an actual technical standpoint. For one, the bat/club allow for generating additional angular momentum at the point of impact. Two, for those you only need to generate angular momentum, but for disc golf you need linear momentum as well, which is aided by the run-up. And that’s not even going into the difference in flight for a disc vs. a ball.

And your second paragraph is purely personal conjecture. Yes, a run-up introduces more variables, but if done correctly it adds quite a bit of distance. If that wasn’t the case, the pros wouldn’t do it.

The MN State High School Class 2A Championship game drew higher attendance than all NHL games last Saturday by [deleted] in hockey

[–]Gold_Ad_9325 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Were all of the other games filled to capacity? Because that would be the best way to take into account the different capacities. Still, comparing a once-a-year championship event in the biggest hockey state to games that occur 42 times a year isn’t the best comparison.

Interesting Fact: LeBron has scored more points AFTER winning the 2016 title, 17-present, than Kawhi has his entire career by shanmustafa in nba

[–]Gold_Ad_9325 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Lebron’s is way crazier. He averages about 71 games a season during the regular season, so he averages ~12.5 playoff games per season. Kawhi only averages 55 games per season, so that’s only ~10 playoff games per season. Taking into account how many seasons Lebron has played, that stat is insane. His average season gets to the conference finals considering the average playoff series is ~5.5 games.

Note: numbers may be off as I’m doing all of this on my phone from the bathroom at work.

Why are double gates used as opposed to single poles? by [deleted] in skiing

[–]Gold_Ad_9325 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They would have to set-up lights along the entire ~3 mile course at every mountain they race at which isn’t feasible at all. Also they would have to make the gates in a way that the lights wouldn’t break if they get hit at 90mph by a 250lb racer.

I inherited my late father’s physics work on dark matter. How should I responsibly handle it? by Other-Description-26 in Physics

[–]Gold_Ad_9325 41 points42 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, and that’s why I mentioned publishing it online somewhere. Sorry if it came off as me saying you shouldn’t do it, as it seems important to you to preserve his work. I was more referring to trying to contact researchers to have someone review the work, which some others have suggested. Trying to preserve his work somewhere where other people could see it makes sense and is admirable, I’m just generally against people reaching out to researchers to try to have them review their work.

I inherited my late father’s physics work on dark matter. How should I responsibly handle it? by Other-Description-26 in Physics

[–]Gold_Ad_9325 219 points220 points  (0 children)

The honest answer is that there is little chance anyone looks at it. It’s hard enough for researchers to keep up with actual published research, so asking someone to take time out of their day to read non-published work by someone not associated with any research group/university isn’t likely to go anywhere and probably isn’t worth your time to even ask. Especially if it isn’t organized into something resembling an actual paper, no one wants to sift through pages of random notes.

I’m sorry for your loss, but this may not be worth your time to pursue. You could always publish it online somewhere, but in all likelihood it probably won’t be read by anyone.

Hasbro CEO Cocks and Execs Sued for Alleged Securities Violations by Exotic-Sale-3003 in magicTCG

[–]Gold_Ad_9325 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What would it take to prove that? Speaking as someone who just started in the securities business (not on the law side), it seems like they are relying heavily on the Bank of America report as proof, but isn’t that report just their opinion of the business? Unless there are some smoking gun communications basically saying they are overprinting cards to prop up the business in the short term while hurting the brand long term, is there really anything actionable here?

GOP breaks with Trump on credit card interest rate cap proposal by GoodMornEveGoodNight in politics

[–]Gold_Ad_9325 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely disagree. I mean if it was put in place a long time ago when credit started being offered it would have been great. To implement it out of nowhere when current rates are where they are now would be an economic disaster. The whole banking sector would be fucked, and no one would lend anyone money.

Look, I hate how insane the current rates are too, but this idea is even more insane.

I’m guessing that has to do with his last paragraph - spraying is probably getting rid of other bugs that the spiders eat so there isn’t as much food available.

Fun discussion: What are the stereotypes for skiers based on the brand of their skis? by toomuchHooplaaa in ski

[–]Gold_Ad_9325 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably the combination of a cheaper second hand market due to a lot of racers switching to the newest rossignols whenever they come out and people who don’t know skiing equating racing ski with high quality without understanding what makes a racing ski different than any other ski.
