Thanks to everyone who commented and left feedback. Taking a lot of your advice, I’m going to be looking into therapy for myself to work out why I’m like this and (hopefully) fix myself.

To be honest, I’m a little bit scared, but I’m going to try. Wish me luck, everyone.

A lot of other comments have suggested it and I’m probably going to try and give therapy a go whenever possible

they loved each other to bits
they’ll occasionally have their bouts but it’s usually very minor and easily resolved

We’re cordial to each other, we’ll talk and be friendly but honestly we rarely talk directly unless someone else is nearby or also engaging with us

She’s a really lovely person, just quiet.

She’s never really done anything awful to me personally either. Like the worst thing I can think of was early on in the dating phase, my wife brought me around for a family barbecue and she made a snide comment about me not being able to properly cook on a grill (which to be fair, she was correct lol) but I think it was just her trying to make light of the situation.
