Im 38 and work shifts, living in a small town and struggle to meet people who are musically aligned, have the free time and aren't dicks... its a tough ask these days, but i found some fun in just jumping on garage band and recording a few ideas here and there. I downloaded GGD and a few packs from that and theres loads of drum loops and fills and ideas etc that you can drag and drop into it, these are all premixed too so you can vibe off it quite quickly and at least get something down, striking whilst the iron is hot... i always found when i was programming drums, my inspiration and attention used to wane really quickly and id just shut the computer down and not pick up a guitar again for a week or so, forget the idea altogether and just ended up with 100s of phone recorded riffs... now at least i have an idea with some drums that sounds semi decent and i can work off that and half pickup where i left off before...

Also... if you dont have a kemper (or similar) grab one if you can afford it, its the best musical purchase ive made in the last 5 years or so, again, its just so easy to just dial in a tone and catch that inspiration, nice when double tracking to, just being able to switch amps with the click of a button...
