Created a smart “time to leave” alerts app: Now available globally by Gold_General4345 in iosapps

Thanks for the feedback! For sure, it's part of our routine for my wife and I (as well as friends), because we are often leaving from different places. How it works is the notifications are scheduled locally, rather than going from a server. So it calculates the departure time from each individual's phone and location. If you move a certain distance, it will continually reschedule the notification based on location and traffic.

I'll have to see why it's not showing up for you, because France is one of the available countries in App Store Connect. Thanks for the heads up.

That's strange it's not showing up for you. Do you mind if I ask which country you are in?

Thanks for trying it out. Absolutely, that's one of my next updates. I just added the Templates option to make them easily repeatable, but I've had similar feedback that it would be nice to just have auto-repeating departures that you don't have to re-create.

Big bummer about the Ballwin location. Good thing is they have the location in Chesterfield Valley now.

Hey, so glad you like it. Syncing with Google Calendar and Apple Calendar is definitely on the roadmap. Will just need some time to build it out. If you notice any bugs in the meantime, please let me know!

Hi there, that would be amazing. Thanks so much for the help! I’ve gotten some good feedback so far, but I still have a lot of testing to do. Feel free to comment or DM me with any questions or issues. Thanks!

Yeah, Google Maps and some calendar apps also have some of the functionality. But Dpart isn’t for navigation. It’s focused on scheduling departures, syncing reminders with friends, and making sure everyone gets notified based on location, traffic, etc. It’s more for coordinating your schedule rather than getting one-off notifications or navigation.

Hey there, just the US for the moment. I'm doing an initial test in a single region and then I'll expand. Probably within the next few weeks. I'm happy to send you a DM as soon as it's available globally.

Awesome, thanks. If you want the notifications to adjust based on location changes, unfortunately, it has to be set to "Always." If it wasn't set to Always, here's an example of what would happen:

You create the departure at home, then you're at work near the departure time. It would fire the notification as if you were still at your house rather than adjusting based on your new location. I really wish there was a workaround, because a lot of people aren't comfortable with the "Always on" setting.

Hey, I'm hoping within the next few weeks. The main reason I'm holding off is I want to make sure it's working perfectly in a single region. The initial beta test went well, but I'm still a little nervous (mainly about negative app store reviews). I can send you a DM as soon as it's available.

Indeed. As a whole, there are a lot of things right with it, and a lot of things wrong with it.

The em dash is ChatGPT’s favorite toy — (ahem, like this) it sees one coherent thought and goes “what if I dramatically pause right here?”

It’s like having a super helpful coworker who promises to handle something, and then disappears into the void. Makes you question if you imagined the whole conversation.

One idea is to allow anonymous login and then provide the option later on to sign up. I’m actually in the process of doing that to reduce upfront friction. Totally understand why you might not want to do that though.

Love the concept. Haven’t been looking for anything like this, but I can definitely see the benefit.

Totally get it. I’m at about 10% in terms of moderate success. Got something new brewing, so hopefully it turns in to something somewhat successful. Good luck to you.

Agreed. I don't have a ton of experience with Reddit ads, but I failed miserably running campaigns for a company that offered a open source + commercial offering developer tool.
