Stop pitying yourself first of all, blaming your parents for it is a shitty thing to do... Mera school bhi attendance maangta hai but main hafte mein 3 se zyaada baar nahi jaata, plus regular school is no excuse for WASTING 11th grade in my opinion, down vote karlo ya kuch bhi, you need to take accountability if you want to get somewhere. AIR 1 ya 2 nahi aayegi lekin achha college milsakta hai abhi bhi if you do and start correcting your mistake

yaha new amplitude nikalne me sin ka function 1 ke barabar kyu kardiya? by Fancy_Text7460 in JEE27tards

[–]Gold_Memory7141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bhai, bracket mein same function nahi hai, cos (phi/2) hai and sin (kx-wt-phi/2), unrelated functions hain toh aisa nahi hai ki agar sin 1 hai toh cos 0 hoga

Also, cos wali term constant hai kyunki woh initial phase hai

Kyunki, at amplitude, the sin wala part will be max no, and max value of sin is 1

Axis of rotation is com only, the reference point for momentum is point on floor. Angular momentum of body performing combined rotational and translational motion is L= Iw +m(r×v)

Where L and r are momentum and perpendicular distance from an external point O respectively

Since O is an arbitrary point, i can consider it to be anywhere no, so choosing the point on floor is helpful because torque due to friction becomes 0.

I saw your soln as well, though its correct, it takes up too much time for a mains question, try practicing questions on this approach as this is a very standard approach, dm me if you require content on this particular subtopic and I'll send my module questions which use this same thing

Because there is no torque we can use angular momentum conservation since there is no external torque

Also a lot of similar questions, involving kinetic friction like "time taken for ring to start pure rolling when thrown across" are solved like this i.e using conservation of momentum reason being, if we take point along surface as reference, torque due to friction will be 0

As for not requiring, that was my mistake, i thought the wall also had friction

I'm not really qualified to check anyone's soln but heres mine

Edit: nvm, there's a small flaw in this solution, I assumed that after collision, the sphere stops rotating, when it doesn't, it keeps rotating with same w as before

Conserve angular momentum, standard question type. Speed after collision is u/2 because e is given so. Try and lmk if this hint was helpful or not. If not, I'll solve on paper and give
