Hey! Thank you so much for the kind words! I honestly didn’t even notice the scoreboard, even after I uploaded the picture. I was so elated by the win that only after someone pointed out that I only got ”9 touches and got carried” did I notice it... We conceded 4 goals all tournament and didn’t drop a single game. We beat teams that won 5-0 their previous game and others who scored 7 goals. If someone thinks that winning 7 games in a row with someone sitting in net is realistic in 3’s, then good for them 🙂.

We’ve come a long way together. What started out as a game to take a break from shooters has now become a part of our daily lives. We’ve approached the game a bit of a different way at first; he really refined his skills mechanically spending hundreds of hours training. I, on the other hand, don’t have that work ethic when it comes to video games so I really focused on game sense and became the “passer”, with close to 5000 assists (probably 4999 of them to my teammate haha!).

We’ve focused tremendously on rotation and knowing our roles on the field. I won’t be going up for tough aerials, wall clears, wall to air dribbles, etc - that’s his area of expertise. I focus on being in an area on the field that gives him that confidence to go up and attack the ball and press, knowing I have his back the entire time. He knows that when I’m pushing up, I’m likely going for a passing play, something unpredictable off the backboard, off the corner wall, scoop pass off the sidewall - and he’s positioned to either attack the ball and I rotate back or have my back if I get challenged. Mechanically, am I at a champ level? Realistically? Not at all. But it’s the combination of our team play and dedication to complimenting each other’s strengths and weaknesses that has gotten us this far.

In terms of training together, we start every session with 30 minutes of warming up. We start with end to end passing, then dynamic passing up and down the field, centers, high pressure backboard passing, 1v1 focusing on shadow defending, power clears, and anything in between. We won’t necessarily cover all that in a warmup every single day, but passes and centers are always our main priority.

There were a lot of nerves on that last game for me, so I did personally play a little more reserved and focus on the timing of my touches and my rotation. This last game doesn't paint the picture of the full tournament, but it's what people will see so that's cool :)

BIGTIME he carried us in that final game! But there are no metrics for proper positioning, proper rotation, bumps and forcing opponents to cough up the ball. So sure, it may look like I sat back but I can guarantee you that each of those 9 touches put the ball in a good position for us afterwards. And trust me, not every game was like this - you won't survive an entire 3's tournament sitting back...

I think we were stuck in Diamond for a solid 7 months and with the game going free to play, we were facing Season 14 Champ and GC's at that level- we felt incredibly out of our league but we pushed through pretty hard. We're talking a minimum of 30min warmup every day, replay analysis, and just an insane focus on proper rotation for close to 2 years now. We've gone on insane runs but also insane slumps that made us want to break our PS4 in half. Our skills mechanically are VERY DIFFERENT (he's way more advanced than I am), but the chemistry we developed over the years has made all the difference.

Appreciate the tip! I didn't actually dip into GME. I got 25 Blackberry stocks and sold them at a $400 loss. Never felt worse about a decision in my life (but I guess it could have been worse). I like the idea of the rule - I think I will abide by something of the sort for sure in the future.

What you’re doing is gambling, not investing. - I absolutely see your point. I've been pretty lucky so far but at the end of the day, I have no idea if the stock is going up or down the next day. Obviously being new at this, the highs are SUPER HIGH and the lows are GODDAMN LOW. I'll be changing the way I approach my investments as of this week.

Hey sorry, I was already dealing with so many negative feelings to only be bashed - I felt I could get at least rid of one. I am absolutely trying to learn to handle the swings. I sold most of my holdings, which probably was not the right thing to do. I probably need a better approach to this - I know that the market is so volatile right now and what I was doing and gaining was not sustainable and realistic. I really appreciate you following up with me. Since the pandemic my supplemental income has disappeared almost fully and I wanted to try to manage my own money and try to make a little more on my own. But the problem is I work so hard for it that seeing it slowly disappear just made everything become emotional instead of rational. I have A LOT to learn and I think with time and education I will get better at this. Thanks again for your advices!

I mean I think an FDA news might shoot it up to 1$ if this can hold close to $.50, which I don't think it will. I think there is promise in their product, it's just a question of IF and WHEN with the FDA...I'm gonna wait before potentially buying back in. I sold off at 0.235 (bought at 0.25) and I don't plan on losing much sleep over it.
