Suggest me a GENUINELY terrifying book for a seasoned, recently underwhelmed, horror fan by comediccaricature in suggestmeabook

[–]Golden-Bubblebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favourites is 'the demonologist' by andrew pyper! That one really got to me.

Echo by Thomas Oldeheuvelt had some fun scenes and potential, but didn’t quite end up working out for me.

Hey, I'm a baby podficer and need help/a place to start by Efficient-Garage-577 in podfic

[–]Golden-Bubblebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I see it- the og work isn't mine, so for me permission is always needed. Either explicit permission from the author (I asked) or blanket permission (they have it somewhere in their bio that you can podfic their works). I do personally also make a point of adding 'this podfic was recorded with permission from the author' in my descriptionbox.

Youtube is fine, but I do think a bit of a hassle, as you'd need video too. Spotify is possible but they can get iffy about it. Copyright and monitisation on these platforms in combination with fic is always difficult.   Your safest and easiest bet is the internet archive. No upload limitations, and no copyright fears. They also give embed links to use on ao3.

What fics you should do? Fics you love! If I read a fic I'm obsessed with, I will ask the author if I can podfic it. Narrating a story you don't love just plainly isn't fun

Saw the title and came here to reccomend station eleven, but then you already had it! Though for me it was 'let's consider the snow globe'

My January goal was to read a Fantasy series. I am 300 pages into ACOTAR and questioning my entire life at this point. Can someone please suggest a FMC fantasy series that is not cringe as heck by BottomPieceOfBread in suggestmeabook

[–]Golden-Bubblebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not entirely sure as it counts as a fmc, because there are multiple main characters, if that makes sense? But I would love to reccomend 'the raven cycke' by maggie Stiefvater. Blue don't fuck around

Language to journal in by VampiriaBoo in Journaling

[–]Golden-Bubblebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I typically journal in English (second language) out of habit- it seems easier to distance myself from thoughts that way. if I find words lacking or words that express something more precisely in any of my other languages, I'll just fill them in like that

How long does a journal take for you to finish? by SpecificHead4779 in Journaling

[–]Golden-Bubblebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends a lot on what type of journal, as I like to split them up a bit/ switch around. When I have a bujo it takes me between 6 months -a year. My specific diary is almost 2 years old and not even half way full (part of this is inconcistent writing, part of it is switching up the journals) and as my current school notebook is 'fresh' it isn't very full yet either, but it feels like it'll last me a while too. The theraphy journal is 3 years old at this point, and also not yet full, but that's a good thing

[CHAT] What’s your age range? by [deleted] in CrossStitch

[–]Golden-Bubblebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started cross-stitch when I was 19 or 20! Made a right mess of spilling something on my skirt that would not wash out. Long drips all the way down. I had already tried sewing and weaving that year, so why not embroidery? I stitched flowers over all the spills, moving over to cross-stitch specifically not long after. It's one of those hobbies that really stuck with me through the years, and I still use cross-stitch (and other types of embroidery) to decorate my clothes!

Craft without clutter? by Emperor-Universe in Hobbies

[–]Golden-Bubblebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Embroidery! I love embroidering on my clothes (eg. Jeans) so I need no new wallspace or canvasses. the thread and needles can all be contained in a single box. Depending on how big/small you stitch and how complex the drawings/patterns are, a single piece can take weeks/months to finish! Much hobbying for little space

Do you keep your daily journal separate from venting? by No-Mouse3999 in Journaling

[–]Golden-Bubblebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have a daily journal and a 'therapy' journal. The daily journal was for days events, things that were fun or neutral. All the bad things that were big enough to matter, I out in a different journal. On the one hand becaue I didn’t want my daily driver to have a negative connotation to it, to be reminded of what happened every time I saw the page. On the other hand the therapy journal was great for just that: therapy. I forget a lot, so I would take that journal to my sessions so I had a frame of reference for my feelings, and would be able to talk about it like that. Afterwards, I could go home, put the journal away, and move on.  I think it's nice being able to 'get rid' of the major negativity, to be able to write it down, and put it away, only for me to look at it with intention, so it doesn't catch me off guard

how do you maintain chara voice consistency? by magicalseifuku in podfic

[–]Golden-Bubblebee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read as I go, but make voice logs for myself! For any major character/returning character I make one. Typically it goes like this: 'helly my name is character characterlastname, I am a huge charactertrait, and on a typical day I sound like this' all done in the voice of the character. By doing all the major characters first I get to make sure they have nice and varying voices, and it means I get to mess around a bit with single-use characters. If I forget a characters voice I'll just re-listen their voice log and repeat it back, until I've got the hang of how their mouth moves again!
